Heard Bailey Rice going to Villa. Plan is to be with their youth team and train with 1st team. Think we will be due nominal fee as he's OOC.

Villa are one of many, and have been the front runners for a while now.
Personally, I really want to see him move to the continent. Would love to see more young Scots developing outside the UK.

With their youth team?
Lennon Miller just completed his first season in Serie A after 2 good seasons in the Motherwell first team.
For being the same age, amazing how differently their careers diverged over the last few years.

Would love to see more Scots develop at Rangers.

EHL, if he has any sense he will move to Italy. When was the last Scottish player to move to an EPL academy and make it? The amount of young Scots going to Italy first and developing is mental. I can remember speaking to Turnbull's brother and saying I can't believe he chose Cardiff over going to Serie A.
Motherwell would be a good move for him tbf I would like to see us keep him.

Wishy, yeah - Italy seems to be a really positive environment for our young players.
There's a lot of interest in young Scottish talent from Austria, Switzerland and Poland too.
I honestly hope as many of the players take the opportunities as possible - but I can completely understand the lure of England.
I think the average salary in the Championship is around £750k and in League 1 it's around £250k - pretty difficult for anyone to turn down those opportunities.

So do I, mate, but if it was me giving the advice, I'd tell them to put aside short term gain for the bigger picture. Chance to go and learn a new culture, develop further as a player/person, and if you do well you open the doors to moves that will likely not come by moving to the bottom of the Championship.
Hickey being the perfect example.
Rice has been at Rangers for years and we haven't given him a chance. He won't stay here any longer. We blew it with this lad. Best of luck to him wherever he ends up.

100% agree EHL, it's the way ahead for our young players, especially with team routes blocked at the Big Two.

There is something about Rice not taking his opportunities rather than not getting them. He had a number of games to showcase his worth, and always looks lethargic. Boy has def got talent, but question his attitude.
