Tbh I don't blame young players for leaving
There is next to no pathway to the first team.
And the youth team set up needs to be fixed as they don't play enough games.
I know it's easy to say if they are good enough etc, but this isn't a recent issue.
This has been for years, literally.
Personally I rated young Fraser while he was here and Paterson should have been played more while here.
We sold him for a huge fee so it shows it can be successful in developing young players but it's too few and far in between.

This would suggest to me Kelly is going to be 3rd choice next season and a new keeper coming in to compete with Butland.

Ah well, such is life. We will never be able to hold onto any of our top youth prospects when the big guns come calling. Becoming a millionaire at a very young age is something 99.9% of players will never knock back. Quite rightly so, in my opinion.

If it's a young German keeper I'd hope it's Tjark Ernst (spelling?). He is a fantastic young keeper, 23 years old, playing in Germany's second division for Hertha Berlin. He has so much potential.

NewIbrox, go see if you can find the highlights of the Leicester v Sheffield Wednesday from a couple of weeks ago. When you're not busy, he made some outstanding saves. He saved 12 from 13 on target. Very talented young keeper. Would just love him being a Rangers player. I wouldn't mind his brother either.

Absolutely agree, My star, that every time I've seen Pierce Charles playing for Sheff Wednesday, he's been superb, making terrific saves, and immense with the ball at his feet. ? If he's over his injuries and has no injury issues, I'd also love him at Ibrox. ? There's one thing clear, some club in the close season is going to sign this very talented, young goalkeeper. ? He'll not be short of admirers, that's for sure. ?

Sws, Top of the Championship couldn't beat him in his last game, mate, unbelievable with the ball at his feet, probably he's not as good a passing range as others, but that's nonsense as far as I'm concerned. I've always been talking about his control of the ball.
I just know I'd certainly not be panicking if he's got the ball at his feet like I do with our keeper now. He could easily be mistaken for an outfield player, that's how good he is with the ball.

A squad of 24 or less is no use imo when playing domestically and in Europe. Imagine we get 4-5 injured, and if it's a 22 player squad, it would mean we basically only have a bench and starting 11. That would be nuts.

Only saw him once during a cup game against lower league opposition. Seem to remember him trying to kick the ball across the park from a pass back, and it trundled over to the opposing team's CF. The subsequent shot then went through his legs but thankfully past the post.
