True (from Transfermarkt) his primary position seems to be Cb but he can play LB. It would make sense if we wanted cover for both. However he hasn't played a lot of top level football and didn't play often last year but who he did it was in 2nd division with the other Seville club Deportivo. still a young lad though.

Sorry he signed in 2024 was in the b team, just had a look at him just about signed for psv but something about paper work, few other good clubs interested in him, left footed cb.

Having read a bit, Mendy seems to have agreed a move to PSV for 4m euros recently which fell through due to work permit issues. I wonder if this might be one case where the SPFL openness to non-internationals getting permits might work in our favour vs other leagues. PSV certainly have a good record of attracting talent of late.

Interesting to see a CB still on the cards. Maybe we see him as covering LB and CB? I'd be surprised if we're spending the quoted 4m euros on a squad player, but maybe he'd start over Jefte / Souttar? That seems a big punt given he's only 20 and has only played 6 games for Betis though. Perhaps the 4m fee quoted just comes straight from Transfermarkt!
