One of the big things that impressed me about McInnes was his ability to react and adapt his team / formation in game unlike those we've had before. Watching again the highlights, immediately after Tierney hit the bar and Manny was struggling at the start, DM signalled change to 4-4-2 and we scored almost straight after. Thought 4-4-2 was supposed to be finished with 😜 too.

Commentator said he was saying Celtic had gone to 4-4-2. 🤷♂️.

Two different incidents, early on he did indicate to our players 4-4-2 and he also was seen pointing out the change in formation when Celtic were making subs later on.

Celtic switched to 442 to try and counter our 442. I am so glad we now have a manager who knows how to Play in Scotland.

Kaiser I agree but earlier in the season the claim was he didn't know what he was doing or what his best formation was when he made player and formation changes. I think all that work has actually allowed us to reach this point where he is able to change the formation easily mid game.
players are used to it and know how to play it in a game environment.

We controlled the game more when they went 4-4-2 and had more space, could not understand Celtic going long from kick outs but keeping CBs in box, if that was us I would be doing my nut basically had no chance of picking second ball up as their players were not close enough to their forwards, not a great tactician but just thought common sense.

Angus think maybe was being judged harshly at start by some at start but didn't help himself by making multiple changes at half time in a number of games. Made it look like he didn't know what he was doing. Didn't help that recruitment was slow in important areas so having to play round pegs in square holes.

He got what any manager would have got at the start of season cause his teams that he sent out were playing poor it's a remarkable turnaround. Can't say he didn't deserve criticism after being 5 points behind and put out of 2 European competitions. He's now getting praise that he deserves and rightly so. That's football for you.

Kaiser I know but he was obviously trying to find solutions and getting to know who worked well with other players. he obviously felt that what he started with wasn't working in that particular game and made changes quickly which has been a fan moan in previous seasons. He also made changes and then played the same player in the next game (Dan Neil) so I always put it down to him being adaptable and trying to find solutions against each team. but possibly just selling it to myself.
McInnes has always been good at building good squad spirit at every team he has been at. That was never my worry but this does take time.
I decided to allow him that time without being too critical but each fan must make their own decision on that. I hope we remember this when the inevitable blip happens.
