What do we think of our squad Vs theirs. Take off the blue tinted specs and hatred for them and be objective. Position for position. For a wee while there wasn't many of our boys who would get into their starting 11 now though I think our squad is better than theirs. Couple of positions are closed calls, maybe full backs.

i'd rather have Chermiti, Kelsey, Shankland, Naderi and Miovski than hogh, duran and the chelsea loanee.
I'd rather have our GK and back 4.
Think wingers/midfielders are a bit more even.

Ryan having watched every game of theirs duran is either absolutely brilliant, or absolutely non existent mate, doesn't seem to have a middle ground. Having said that he's a youngish guy, new country, new language etc, so kinda expected, hopefully he doesn't find full form.

At this moment in time Penrice is the best LB in the league by a country mile! Tierney hasn't hit the heights of his early days at Arsenal and doesn't look like he ever will! Penrice should've been in the Scotland squad before Robertson and Tierney (haven't seen Doig play recently) going on current form. Alistair Johnstone(even when fit ) has become nothing more than a hatchet man, he's lucky he lasts 90 mins in most games he plays without getting red carded.
Scales and Vickers are cart horses. McGregor is well past it and Baur looks really lightweight. Hogh isn't suited to Scottish football by the looks of it. Duran is the only player currently in their squad I'd happily have in ours. I said at the start of the season their squad was threadbare and it's starting to show. They're starting to be found out now and long may it continue.

Rwn agree with most of your post, apart from Johnstone being a hatchet man. He has a lot more to his game than that mate, i think he's an excellent player, badly missed for them. Another one they'll receive a nice transfer fee for, believe they would have already if he didn't get injured.

On their day, Man for man I think we're better in almost every position which I wouldn't have said a few weeks ago. Only thing is they've been over the distance and we've yet to see if we can keep the consistency.

At this moment and time not many would, but remember form swings on roundabouts guys. We've had a few good wins, let's not get carried away. Many thought we had a better squad last year, look how that turned out.

I actually still think they have better forwards than us, with McGregor now over the hill we have a slightly better midfield, certainly a better balance to it, defensively I think we are well ahead, they have 2 goalies they can't trust, a left back who can't last 90 minutes, a centre half who was involved in a previous team of his losing to darvel and the most overrated player in Scotland( carter- vickers) they miss Johnston badly he's an excellent full back, I would still accept a point on sunday but if we were to go there and win they would go into full meltdown mode even thought they'd still be above us.

The big thing for me is how will guys like Tierney, CCV, McGregor and Forrest cope with playing 2 games in under 3 days. Say what we like these guys are key players for them but age and injuries might make this tough for them. We need to play at a good pace right from the start.
