Sky sports reporting Dundee United interested in Cameron as someone mentioned in here earlier. Got me wondering everybody wants us to sign the young best talents in spl like we used to do. Cameron had an outstanding season for goals and assists at Dundee and has failed like many others Bailey rice off the top of my head. Is this on the club or the player do we think? Should they be loaned out straight away like Chelsea and teams do to get them regular football and keep them developing? Are they not as good as we thought? Are they struggling to make the step up?
Been a while since we had a proper academy player or player in from an spl that's improved us. Souttar played regularly but would argue he was better at hearts

Playing well for our opposition doesn't always translate in being able to do the same for us. Going from fairly equal open play to up against a low block week after week takes a different type of player, and we don't have many Scottish or otherwise particularly good at it.

Had high hopes for Cameron, didn't quite have the build or stature, but had the fitness levels, plus vision and the ability to slip a ball through to break the lines, as well as arriving into the box to get on the end of something.
Think a lot of these boys need constant games to build up a rhythm, and they just aren't going to get that at us unless they are exceptional right away.

I thought the same with him too, was always worried he might be a bit lightweight, but hoped he would come good.

Always felt Dave Watson from Kilmarnock would've been a better prospect than Cameron. Just a shame it hasn't worked out for him at Rangers.

Agreed, Scotty. He burned his bridges, I suspect. How, I don't know, but will never play again. He will jump ship. Pity more won't do the same. It's all downhill for some, and they can't face it.
