I'm a struggling Rangers fan today folks and I don't even know where to start with my thoughts.

I have so many concerns about our beautiful club and the direction we're head in, while trying to remain positive.

Not even sure how to articulate it!

What's bothering you, Gazza? We are trying to add players to improve the team and offload ones that haven't done so. Whilst it's not the first try at this in recent years, it is under this manager.

Board are trying. We aren't the lure we once were, and we aren't the lure of our city rivals at this time. Doesn't mean we can't get it right though. Cheer up.

Gazza, I try to look at it like this. I am in my 60s and have been a Rangers fan from when I learned what a football was. However, let's face it, whether Rangers win, lose or draw, it may upset my mood for a bit, but long term it doesn't affect my health or my wealth, or should I say lack of it.

Rangers are important to me, but I keep them in a separate compartment from the rest of my life. I try to remain positive about my club. I don't think our squad is as bad as some think and recent additions are imo moving in the right direction. Of course, I may be wrong and my comments will no doubt be remembered and brought up should we have a bad season but so what.

When the game is done and dusted, I come on here and give my opinion. Some agree, many don't. The rest of my life continues regardless. Always has done and always will as long as I'm fit to continue.

I know you have had a difficult period in your life and I've been impressed with how you are trying to move on. Please don't let the football side of your life dictate how you progress. Use it as an inspiration to continue with your progression from your past issues. For me, the first part of moving forward is to stop looking back so much. Hope you take this in the way it is meant. Enjoy watching the club but don't let it bring you down.

JFM, that's very well articulated.

Gazza, don't let what is important in life be infected by what isn't.

Rangers are what we all care about but it shouldn't come before family, health, faith, whatever else.

Doesn't make you less of a fan but it will make you a better, healthier person.

We all love you on here. Don't forget that. ❤️

Very well written post Jfm, and I'm in my late 50's myself, my friend. 👍 🇬🇧

Yeh, I think that's the thing. I can't do anything about it, I have no control over anything other than me.

It's more for me. The financial situation, and how further behind we might fall.

I know the club are doing everything they can to steady the ship and get us competing again. However, our rivals are about to pocket about another £30/£40 million.

They've covered most of their incomings from their outgoings. Who, from what I've heard and seen, have been impressive.

We haven't sold any of our most sellable assets. And, I'm concerned, if we don't sell at least one of them, where that leaves us financially. Especially as we need more to come in too.

If you accept the fact Rangers will be 2nd best for many years to come with maybe an odd cup along the way, then stress levels will be greatly reduced.

For those in our sixties, it feels like we have always lived in the shadow of our neighbours apart from the nineties, but would not trade my red white and blue for any other colour. These days I watch a lot of junior football due to grandson playing, so never get too down when we lose.

Gazza, first of all, I'm not religious but this has always seemed useful.

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

Honestly, don't let it drag you down.

It doesn't ruin my days or weekends if we get beat. It's just so hard when you have a love for something and we've all been watching them struggle for so long, including the fans.

I was excited at the start of the new season and I still am.

I have no doubt the powers that be are doing everything they can to help and there is an acceptance there.

I'd just hate to watch us get into financial difficulty again. I hope we can get some others sold and get some extra quality in.

While I think that AC has made mistakes in recruitment of the people to run and manage the club, I don't think he'd be daft enough to get into financial difficulty. He is first and foremost a very good businessman.

Funny you should say that, JFM, I just said that last night.

I'm not religious either but I'm spiritual.

I was also raised in addiction and very much qualify for Alanon and other 12 step programmes. Although, I'm not an alcoholic or a drug addict.

I very much live with the disease that is alcoholism.

I like "God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can and the wisdom to know, that person is me."

I've never heard that version, Gazza. imo, you've shown plenty of courage in small steps since Toy came on here. Hope it continues for you.
