So it turns out the lad did have an injury after all, and we disagreed over the time that he'd be out for, us thinking 4-6 weeks and PSV saying a week or 2. Some folk need to settle down and think before accusing the club of lying.
For me, the outcry of signing an injured player and the risks associated are quite serious for that sum of money. We offered a season loan which seemed a more reasonable approach, which was denied.

I'm glad we never took him based on the fact the PSV reporter saying he's a player that needs to be loved. A player like that won't do at Rangers. I was disappointed when I saw it feel through, but, looking at it now, I'm glad. Maybe it's a turning point on decision making.

If we've honestly dropped out of signing a quality player on the basis of a couple of weeks, it just shows a lack of long term plan. If it was known he was injured, why was it pursued and had him at the game, if 2-3 weeks was that crucial in a 4 Yr contract.
Fact is we just lost out on millions, dropping out of the competition, and club are paying the price.

Of course PSV are going to say. Yes, he has an injury, but he will only be out for a week or so. They have an asset they wanted to sell. If we take the RFC statement, i.e. 5 weeks, then they won't sell him in this window.

I think many people get the feeling something strange happened with this deal. I doubt that 'something' had anything to do with PSV or the player. The most obvious culprit is our own team, if we are being honest with ourselves.

I don't believe anything coming from our club these days.

Exactly Blue, hardly going to say he's out for a month when trying to flog!

I'm assuming the reason he was at the game was because we were still actively trying to arrange a season loan for him. It's the fact that actually think we made up the story, without thinking if he wasn't actually injured then it would come out from PSV.
Or are still adamant the boy changed his mind, when his own club have said he's gutted it fell through.

I find this one interesting.
Our recruitment team flagged both Godfrey and Rommens as high risk signings, and, unfortunately, look to have been proven correct.
So, maybe the club are finally learning that rolling the dice on players who are better quality, but higher risk, isn't worth the gamble.

If we keep our eyes on him, we will actually see how long he is out for.

EHL, I then have to ask, why would the recruitment team then follow through?
