UEFA caps squad spending (player/coach wages + transfer fees spread over
contract length + agent fees) at 70% of football earnings from 2025/26.
There is no equivalent domestic cap; the SFA/SPFL only require you to pay
wages and tax on time.
Last published accounts (yr to 30 Jun 2025): revenue £94.1M, wages £57.8M,
amortisation £12.3M. That is roughly 66-75% depending on how much of the
wage bill you count as players and coaches, inside that season's 80% limit.
This window lands in the 2026/27 accounts, not those. Its effect:
Wages down ~£3.4M/yr
Amortisation up ~£5.0M/yr net (new signings add ~£6.7M incl. Driouech
and the Godfrey loan fee, Antman and Diomandé coming off
the books removes ~£1.7M)
Sale profits ~£8M added to football earnings (Butland ~£3M, Diomandé
~£2.9M, Antman ~£2.25M, all fee minus written-down value)
So squad cost actually RISES by roughly £1.6M/yr: the wage savings are
more than swallowed by the amortisation on Driouech, Pandur, Dragojević,
Makhanya and Yokota. The only thing pulling the ratio down is ~£8M of
one-off sale profit, which does not repeat next year. That is the
financial logic behind selling Raskin: a £20M+ fee on a player with
little value left on the books is almost pure profit.
All estimates. The 2025/26 accounts are not published, contract lengths
for some deals are assumed, and agent fees are never disclosed.
NET SUMMARY
Fees: £24.65M spent, £14.2M received - net spend ~£10.45M
Wages: ~£157k/wk added, ~£223k/wk removed
Net wage change: ~£66k/wk reduction (~£3.4M/yr)
(that % is against the Capology-style first-team wage estimate of ~£28M;
the audited total staff cost in the 24/25 accounts was £57.8M)
Ten senior signings in: Pandur, Godfrey (loan), Makhanya, McCrorie,
Neil, Devlin, Dragojević, Yokota, Shankland, Driouech (pending
announcement).
As always, any mistakes let me know.

AK7, cheers, mate. 👍

Ak, that is an outstanding post, great information. Really look forward to reading this every week.
U fancy a job at Rangers c?
Well done.

I posted this as a reply to a previous post before, but I think it applies more here:
Looking at our squad on Flashscore, we have 18 players, now 19 with the imminent arrival of Driouech, who are new to the club in the last 12 months.
Souttar, who is getting bombed out, at 4 years, and Raskin, 3.5 years, and also leaving(?), are our longest serving players.
It really is no wonder at all we're not playing well and we're not going to win a thing. There's nothing there.

Impressive. 🇬🇧

Madrid, I have another running total of the transfers since the start of the new owners' takeover. That is even more worrying.
It's almost a full squad churn every manager we've sacked, to the extent of Martin's team from his first game looked nothing like Rohl's final 11.
13 Aug 2026 17:36:06
John, I'm not sure anyone would want to join the recruitment team, including prospective players by the looks of it.
But I'd always be up for joining the famous!

From the close of transfer window of summer 2024 (for season 24/25 only 2 years ago!) I count only 6 first-teamers that remain today.
Liam Kelly (back-up keeper)
John Souttar (bombed out!)
Ross McCausland (already been and gone, loaned out and to go again?)
Nico Raskin (to be sold?)
Dujon Sterling
Connor Barron (on his way out?)
How on earth is any manager supposed to do anything with that overhaul, that volume of change and upheaval?
No squad harmony, no team spirit, no core, and my goodness does it show.
13 Aug 2026 18:16:23
Correct, Madrid, most managers that have come in past 4/5 years have all pretty much done the same mate, it's near impossible to try building anything doing that.
13 Aug 2026 18:16:41
Excellent AK7.
13 Aug 2026 18:19:35
P.S. - And don't forget about the 4 managers in that time.
Clement
Martin
Rohl
McInnes
Make that 5 if you include Ferguson's time (did he manage more games than Martin?).
13 Aug 2026 18:38:45
We are turning into an absolute joke of a club who keep taking their loyal fans for complete fools. Something drastic needs done now to put an end to this.
13 Aug 2026 18:56:59
And all the various coaches under these managers.
13 Aug 2026 20:00:46
AK7, that is phenomenal. I salute you, sir!
