Mcinnes has confirmed after the match today he is delighted that we rejected a significant bid for Chermiti. Regardless of the injury, am I the only person who is heavily confused by this to the extent it doesn't add up.
We are struggling to sign players of really marquee quality due to not meeting the asking price of players. We're 3 games in and the squad is depleted with no big transfers due to underbidding. But we reject 25mill plus add ons for a 15 goal a season striker. This has to be one of the worst decisions in the history of this club and sums up where we are as a club just now. A serious of catastrophic decisions.

So, you want us to just pay the asking price of any player we want when we don't think they are worth that price, but also just want us to sell our players when our asking price isn't met. Is that your suggestion?

Pay the asking price of every player? The reason we lose the marquee signings who have interest from several clubs is they meet the valuation and we don't.
Anyone that thinks going into a competitive season with either a depleted squad in numerous positions or signing 4th choice players for a position and keeping Chermiti is the best option, then I hope my forecast for the season is wrong and Chermiti proves to be a league winner for us on his own.
We are crying out for real quality on both wings, at right back and arguably centre attacking mid.
Having the extra disposable income to go that bit extra when bidding for 1st choice targets makes the world of difference.
I hope McInnes and the board know what they are doing. I really do.
Who knows, maybe we don't need the extra cash and have plenty to sign our 1st choice targets, but we're choosing to not meet clubs' values and allowing the players to move to different clubs, leaving us with limited options 3 games into a competitive season lol all part of the plan. 🤣
