If last night taught me anything it's scary how Raskin is head and shoulders above anyone else in the middle of the park. Now I haven't always been his biggest fan but if he goes, we won't be able to replace him with the same quality and our season would be gone. His importance to us was shown in the 2nd half last night, everything went through him.
The old cynic in me can't help but think McInnes has been told not to start him to protect him from injury etc. I would much rather sell Fernandez and Chermiti than Raskin. What's everyone else's thoughts?

I agree, fourlads, if we can sell Fernandez I'd do that first.
Raskin being head and shoulders above, shows how poor the recruitment has been.

Raskin always has been miles ahead of pretty much everyone in our squad and it'll take some doing to attract and retain anyone of his quality again.
I actually think we're recruiting a decent blend of continental and homegrown talent and the core of the squad really looks like it's starting to take shape.
Where we are really poor is in the matchday fundamentals, something that's been an issue for years.
Unfortunately, it's not something that can be addressed overnight, but something players like Godfrey, Shankland, Kelly, McCrorie and Devlin will naturally influence.
We just need a few more similar characters, maybe even a couple of SPL journeyman, in to help. But it will take time.

How much do people seriously think we will get for Fernandez, he's 25, so you would be expecting near the finished article at that age, he's nothing like that. If we got 10m for him, and that's a huge if, we would be doing very well in my opinion.

100% agreed, lads. Recruitment has been very poor. Good shout as well, with Fernandez possibly having his head turned. A few teams have been actively sniffing around him.

Interesting take Ehl. My thought is we have missed out consistently this season on the quality additions we required to become winners again. Early days, but I have my reservations that the players we have brought in are of a good enough standard, but time will tell. Thanks for your input. 👍🏻

As crazy as it sounds, since I'm not overly impressed with a lot of our players at the moment, I'd try to keep the majority for the next 2/3 seasons and only add 2 of real quality each window.
We can't keep changing 12-15 players every single season and expect them to gel straight away.
Before anyone says, but Motherwell and other teams do it, they are starting to stick with a style of play and that's the main thing we need to discover and stick with it for years which then makes it easier when we go for a new manager and new players.

Fourlads, I agree regarding Nico Raskin, mate, as he is a good midfielder, but I'll also say that Cammy Devlin is not only the best at Rangers in the midfield position he plays, but the best in Scottish football, the type of midfielder he is in the position he plays, and for me has to start most games. 🤔 🇬🇧

Fourlads, which quality players have we missed out on?
I am only aware of 3 players that we've missed out on, and if I'm being honest, I haven't seen enough of any of them to be upset about it.

Ehl, are you saying McCrorie is a quality player, a starting Right Back? He's slow, cumbersome and has been dragged all over the place in his last few matches.

It isn't a matter of keeping Radkin. If the reports are true, he wants away.
There's no doubt in his ability, it's clear to see.
Obviously, I don't know all the facts.
However, I do find it odd that there hasn't been any bids for him if he's that good.
I think people think they can take Rangers for a ride and get players on the cheap.

9 players off the top of my head that are better quality than what we currently have and brought in.

Same Raskin that helped us to 3rd, yeah he's a god. 2 or 3 good games, 5 or 6 bad ones.
