Up early to take the dog out, and get started on some work around the house. The joys!
Well, that wasn't good, was it?! Even for the most blinkered, as it stands, our squad is winning hee haw. It's not just that we couldn't beat them last night, it was the fact that they were times during that game where they were playing right through us. A team who have been beat off of Montrose and Salford in the last few weeks?! A team who are also in the middle of a rebuild and have spent nada, zero, nothing.
It's clearly evident that it's passed the stage of wanting to sign quality starters, and now at the stage where we must sign quality starters. It's not even up for debate!
I fear, as is the norm with our club, we have opted for quality over quantity, which we know does not work. We are, right now, weaker than we were last season when we finished 3rd in the league. Let that sink in!
Some might not like this, but D McInness must take a fair chunk of the blame here. Starting Diomonde, Naderi and Gassama was criminal. Why? All 3 were woeful! How did Diomonde survive the whole game? Naderi? What do we expect from a player plucked from the lower divisions in Germany? He'll never make it here, and will join the ever expanding list of expensive flops. I'll bet my house on it!
As for our new captain?! Well, as debuts go, Carlsberg certainly never had a hand in this one. Least said and all that.
I don't think anyone on here thought we were the finished article, but if there was, your bubble will soon be burst. Our board need to act, and act fast. Yes, we might be coming up against barriers! Yes, we need to sell assets to raise funds! Yes, we might be getting priced out on our main targets! It's a harsh life, but that's what happens when running a football club, and you just need to handle it. If we are all brutally honest, and use our heads to judge, and not our hearts, our new owners have had more disasters than successes since they came in. Their record, up until now, is nothing short of woeful!
I know it's only "one game", but my God, I feel as if this has to be one of the most overused excuses among us Rangers supporters on here, and elsewhere. It always only "one game", but we all know how it finishes?!
Look, I'm scunnered, but not giving up all hope as I believe we will bring in quality. However, as it stands, filling a team with players like McCrorrie, Naderi, Gassama, Diomonde, added to the likes of Devlin and Barron(i know he wasn't even playing), and then adding in Championship players, or injury prone players who have lost their way in football, is never going to win us the league. The structure, throughout our team, is all over the place.
Early morning rant over! But when is this endless, rinse and repeat nightmare going to end? Please convince me that this is our season.

Let's see where we are at the end of the season. We must not lose faith in what the club has implemented/bought/traded and sold. I want DM to have 2 whole seasons at least. At least a chance to give it his best shot.

We won't need to see where we are at the end of the season (another overused line among our support), we'll know where we are by the end of this transfer window.

Hate to have to agree, SS mate, it's all just the same. I wasn't even angry, it's just oh well here we go again. Same old, same old. Don't even blame DM, because would his other options have been much different? Chucky for Dio, maybe, but is that better? Got no one for Gassama.
Neil came on, and after booking, I totally forgot he was on. Was Chermiti much better than Naderi? Fluffed his chances, and didn't create much either. I like McCrorie as a defensive option, but he's certainly not an attacking full back. Recruitment has again been a mess.

That's the bizarre thing, Kaiser, I was the same, mate, as it's just the norm now. Our club, and support, is riddled with malaise, where anger has been replaced by apathy. It's depressing!
I suppose you have a point when it comes to D McInness. His 2nd choices weren't exactly great either, eh?!

Kaiser/SS, It's a big problem when long term fans let apathy set in. You are not alone, guys, & to be honest, did anyone expect any more last night? We are all hoping for a miracle, & I don't think the club or DM can deliver on our expectations, which for me is not Europe, but to be challenging in league & cups.
On that showing, with nothing/ nobody to come in & improve things, I fear the worst.

Commented yesterday on the stream that had various scores, 2-0, 2-1, 3-1, 4-1 to us, even seen a 1-9 (one of the dados 🤣). Asked where this confidence came from, silence. We're short n know we are, some are posting in hope or blindness, optimistic or just wearing blue tints. Lot of work to be done before any semblance of confidence in this team for me.
