Just a thought as we look to be selling two creative players (I know we will replace) but have creative players been taken out of the game or nullified because of defensive systems?
Grew up watching gazza laudrop and a little bit of cooper. Would these players get the same space and time.
We bemoan the sideways backwards passing against a low block team but is that the only way to beat teams as physically players are very similar these days.
Just wonder whether the good old days of all out football are over and whether we just need to do the passing part quicker and better?

All the good performances I've seen in recent years have been quick turnover presses or past interchanging passing.
Usually, we take too long to open up a space, allowing defences time to regain their positions and shape.

Creative players are for quicker & better passing as well as finding a killer pass to break a low block or that perfect cross. Look at De Bruyne for the perfect example of a creative player. We've been lacking a creative CM for years. Bajrami was never really given a chance, but I don't think he's creative.
Unfortunately, everyone decided to play Pepball & now want to copy Arsenal, by the looks of it, instead of being themselves. In our league, teams set up low blocks against us & Celtic for years. It was refreshing to see Falkirk & Motherwell actually have a go at us & play different.

Gazza, Coops and Lauders made time and space for themselves. The first two in particular could take the ball with a defender tight on them and still get away. They would still be huge stars nowadays, but we definitely would not have been able to afford Gazza and Brian. They are way out of our current league. Happy Days!

Rangers 56, I don't believe it is mate, PSG who just won back to back Champions Leagues by being so much better than anyone else at attacking. We just don't have the money to afford these types of players.
