One for fun, folks.
If you had a £100 million budget to bring in a Goalkeeper, a Defender, a Midfielder, and a Striker—either past or present players—who are you signing?
And on a side note, how much do you think Paul Gascoigne would be worth in today's transfer market?
Do you think he'd be a better or a lesser player in the here and now, given the massive advancements in sports science and modern training? Would the free-spirited genius of the 90s fit into today's highly structured game?

Gascoigne was a world class footballer, he'd fit into any football generation, imo, you'd need to spend your full budget on him and maybe still not get him. Gazza.

Let's start with Gazza! He would be outstanding today, an incredible talent (almost equalled by his talent for mischief).
He would be my midfielder, regardless of other choices and unlimited budget.
My choice of keeper would be Buffon, obvious I know, but what a keeper.
Defender Paulo Maldini - he had everything, and then some.
Striker would be Ronaldo (R9, not CR7).
Stick Scott Nisbet in there and we are unbeatable.

Gk - Neuer - free 2011.
Centre half - Ledley King could've been one of the best ever but couldn't never stay fit, sat at his peak - 20 mill.
Centre midfield - Modric, we were linked and Spurs did only pay 18 mill at the time.
Striker - Batistuta - 42 million.
Leaves a cool 20 million in the bank.
I'd sign Tav 250k, Boughera 3 million, Papac 500k, Mcann 2 million, Barry Ferguson 4 million, Cerny 8 million and Kenny Miller 3 million. I've broke the bank a little.

These are just players I've really enjoyed watching in my life time, I only seen the end of the 90s really and early 00s.
Not my best Rangers xi or players just players I've enjoyed over the years. I've tried to pick a team of players who I think would complement one another as well.
Gazza would probably be a 100mill player in this day and age although he probably wouldn't be playing due to the lifestyle.

I also think Gazza would be just as good, if not better in this day and age.
I was surprised we got him for the fee we did and I doubt I'd be able to afford him with just £100 million.
