Given the signing of Shankland and potentially Ferguson - and the regret of not signing them years ago - I would hope people give these lads and other young local lads a chance, and be more positive about signing players from the SPL.
We could have had these guys years ago but the snobbery amongst many fans was echoed by the snobbery in the boardroom, ending up with signing dud after dud after dud from abroad for inflated fees and wages.
Hopefully those days are coming to an end.

Question? If we signed Ferguson a few years ago, would he have developed at us (or even got the game time?) to make him the apparent be all & end all some have painted him?
Also, the fact he is recovering from ACL damage & a deal being considered when he is known to want EPL football would have me worried tbh.

They need to be ready or we need to be patient and watch Celtic continue to win the league. Just because a player is of the correct calibre at 27 doesn't mean they are at 22.
There needs to be a balance of players growing into the first team and people who can play first team week in and week out.

Believe Ferguson done the best thing for his career moving to Italy, improved his game greatly, because if he had moved from Aberdeen to Rangers he'd struggle for games back then.

A totally agree. Bar our midfield was class at the time we were linked to him, he would not have made the bench back then, imo he done the best thing for his career. Kamara, Lunny, Jack Davis, Arfield, Aribo, he would be nowhere near our team back then. Yes, he could have developed, but he would not have got game time at us.
