All talk about another rebuild is madness in my opinion. It takes a cycle of players playing together and growing together to get to the title. A rebuild will mean the same failure bring in 3/4 quality players we win the league.

The other problem I have is where is the money coming from. The 49ers are not writing the money off as a loss for shares so how many chances have we got at this?

Not really. It's a rebuild. 1. Due to players out of contract and moving on. 2. Loan players going back to clubs, along with players like Raskin and Butland more than likely moving on.

What exactly do you suggest we do other than rebuild? We have Arrons, Djiga, Meghoma, Moore, Skov Olsen, Cornelius all leaving as we're only on loan. We have Tav and King, so far leaving as out of contract. That's 8 players right there. That alone constitutes needing to rebuild without factoring those that might want to leave, such as Raskin (who isn't going to sign another contract with us).
Added to that, we clearly have others that just aren't good enough and are unlikely to ever get to the required level, and a bunch of players coming back from loans that need to be cleared out.

So no matter what you believe is right to do, a 'rebuild' is simply unavoidable.
What we do need to avoid doing this season is bringing in 6 or 7 loan players who will only be here a year, will never fully appreciate playing for the club, and will just continue the trend of non stability. 1 possibly 2 loan players max, hopefully, and also hopefully players with the attitude of Moore, who, although only on loan, seemed to have more passion towards our club than a lot of the permanent players.

After today's SFA announcement, in my opinion, the sweep, sweep approach will give them everything until they get 10 in a row. I see no future for other clubs in Scotland, I hope Hearts contest the statement, and after O'Neil's idiotic claims, I am now convinced he is madder than I thought.

But there is a planned rebuild where we knew they were going and have sourced players to replace them. Then there is the sack the manager 9monthly rebuild where we haven't planned it and need a new manager to tell us what he needs.

I think we are past the latter and hopefully will never see it again. That doesn't mean managers/coaches won't be sacked or leave, but that we recruit in a planned manner for the betterment of the club.
