I thought myself Bowie might make the cut with his goal against Inter. Thought Oli McBurnie might too, but Steve Clarke doesn't seem to rate him no matter how many goals he scores in the Championship.

McBurnie burnt his bridges with the national team when he was caught on camera bad mouthing the previous set-up to other players, and, as John2575 has stated, Clarke is a vindictive man.

I would've taken Bowie ahead of Hirst. He's scored a few decent goals in a poor side. Good work rate and can finish. I think this is a mistake, but Clarke was always going to go with 99% of the players he's selected across the campaigns.
