Put simply, the revolving door of managers isn't going to solve anything. We have to face facts, Bears, over multiple seasons it's become clear that this squad lacks the experience and composure needed to reach the next level and win a title. The inconsistency is glaring; we're so Jekyll and Hyde that we can't even manage a full 90-minute of consistent performance, so why are we expecting this to happen over a season.
The squad is poor and look at the number of draws. Until we close games out we can't expect to assume we can win a title. We are only in it till yesterday due to them being poor and Hearts having momentum. That speaks directly to the overall quality within the team.
Case in point is we sign Rommens and he adds a bit more we get connections then he gets crocked we revert. Overall the squad is just poor in relation to mounting a league challenge. I think the gaffer is having to work with what he has rather than put a stamp on it. remember Bears 6 months ago we would glady sign the lad as gaffer if we knew we would be in a title scrap!
I've been a Bear since the mid 70's and honestly if you are not in this for the long term and want shot a folk at the earliest sign of hardship then you have to ask are you just a fair weather fan! I remember folk calling for heids when Walter was appointed withe Souness walked!

Rohl was third choice, but we still have posters saying he was first?

Good post, barman.

I have mixed feelings about Rohl, and agree we should not be getting rid of him because he can't get more out of that terrible squad. However, we should be questioning whether someone better may be available in the summer.
That's the time to make the change, not in October, after yet another poor start. If he is kept, we need to be looking at signing solid pros, not more project players.

Lately, how do you know this is correct, or are you just speculating with rumours?

As far as I'm aware, Danny Rohl was Andrew Cavenagh's first choice.

Are we forgetting about Gerrard and Muscat???

Different members could have had preferred options, Yateley. Seems Cavenagh allowed those he appointed to make the decisions. So both can be true.

Gerrard was never a choice as couldn't work in the UK, Yately, and Muscat was more fans' speculation and made up rumours.

Davie, both Gerrard and Muscat were absolutely the first 2 choices, no doubt about that, and Cavanagh went back for Gerrard again. A couple of days after that Saturday night, he turned the job down, and it was because of the alignment of working with Thelwell, and because his family were still over in Saudi.
? Regarding Muscat, he had the job, but Rangers wanted him right away, but Muscat wanted to do the correct, loyal thing by staying that extra 3 or 4 weeks to finish the season and secure the Chinese league title. I think that's a good trait to have, and all before Rohl got the job, my friend, no ifs or buts. ?
