Aphelion you are very defensive. The 3 Scottish players you mention can't get a game. Granted DR didn't have a chance to sign the two olayers I mentioned just as an example I hastened to add. The pont I made over the last two decades we have chosen to ignore the best home grown talent or players tgat are performing in our league iver a coupe of seasons regardless of nationality. But what Scottish player lack in ability tgey make up in desire and commitment in our league.
Falkirk for example have a fraction of our budget but had 8 Scottish players on the field the other week. With the money we spent in January alone with DR we should be blowing Motherwell and Falkirk alike away especially at Ibrox. I'm just mit convinced by DR yet, our football hasn't been great. I want to be proved wrong believe me.

I have answered you. I hope it gets put up as it will be the final answer.

In my opinion, the balance of our squad is completely wrong, and the balance of the starting 11 on Sunday was completely wrong.
I posted yesterday that McInnes has been really clear with the recruitment at Hearts that they need a core of players who understand our league and that they can't flood the squad full of players from around the globe.
Far too often we opt for style over substance, i.e. defenders that like to dally on the ball more than they like to defend.

You make a good point, Ehl.
I'm of the same opinion.

Ehl, your post makes complete sense to me.
Like many posters on here, I have watched Rangers play in the SPL since its inception, in the 1975/1976 season.
I would guess the vast majority of my generation want to see a core of players who know and understand the unique nature of our league, and know what is required to win consistently in our league.
I hope Dr comes to the same conclusion.

Not defensive just honest in my response to you.
You mentioned "these foreign Managers" don't get it.
StevieG is a winner.
I pointed out how flawed your theory was and that your arguments do not hold water.
I can't help you any further.
I will always be grateful for the trophy Gerrard delivered but let's not gloss over the fact it was the only trophy he won.
You could have made your point well but you chose to go down the route of blaming foreign Managers and pretending Gerrard was some sort of Messiah that never made errors.
Yes Rangers have lost a bit of identity.
Yes Rangers should have signed more domestic players over the years
Yes Rangers should be offering more of a pathway for young Scottish players.
All valid points lost in your rant.

As much as I rate and like Danny Rohl, and no matter what happens in these last remaining 4 league games, he deserves to be our head coach/manager for next season, allowing him time to get more of his own signings in ? But I totally agree with your post, Ehl.
??? Nobody avoids questioning if mistakes are made, and they have been made by Rohl, our players, and so on. ?

It's a vicious circle.
Some think we need a core of Scottish players to win the league.
Winning the league gets you into the riches of CL.
A core of Scottish players will achieve nothing in Europe.
You are then only taking part in Europe for the money.
Change the team with better players to achieve in Europe.
Success disappears domestically.
And on and on it goes.

I don't subscribe to the 'you need a quota of Scottish players'. If they're good enough, fine. We just need better players and some leaders. I see plenty of other leagues with players showing the traits we need. The difficulty is getting them to some here.

Sorry aph, but Stevie G is still a winner. Let's not just forget about achievements please.
