Edd1 what is your opinion on the breaking story from Sky sources that Arne Slot is expected to remain Liverpool manager going into next season?

The summer signings were made for an Alonso team.
I personally don't see this being a blip and I am gutted for Liverpool supporters hoping for a change of direction.

I just had a wee look at the EPL table there Ed01 to see how Liverpool were getting on. So it looks like you, Villa and Man United are going to be fighting it out for 3rd place.
What did surprise me is that Spurs are 3rd bottom and staring relegation straight in the face.
That would be some upset if they were to go down i would imagine. Especially after spending gazzilions of pounds on the new stadium, i doubt that Championship money will put a dent in the repayments towards that.

Simeone is too defensive for Liverpool style, and Enrique won't leave PSG, so who's elite for the job?
Would they go for Fabregas or even Zidane is going to France. It would be a left field appointment.
Big Ange is a Liverpool fan all his days, he'd fit the Anfield style.

I think Aphelion may be referring to Wirtz and Frimpong (though I could be wrong)
Slot was obviously greatly successful last season but what do you think has changed this season?
From what I've heard myself his man management is highly questionable but the games I've seen if Liverpool this season hasn't seen great quality from individuals. Early on Kerkez was really struggling, Wirtz struggled to find his feet for a while and Konate/Isak have looked shadows of their former selves.
As a club who's had Russell Martin manage us, I understand the wrong manager can ruin players but the Liverpool squad certainly hasn't covered itself in glory.
Though as a Liverpool fan I'm sure you can give a much better insight

I do think that Tonali would be a great signing for Liverpool.
Tonali in the 6 position with Wirtz and Szoboszlai in the 8s.
I have also heard through general conversations with friends that Liverpool may be a likely destination for Geovany Quenda

Tonali looking to leave Newcastle so I would think Liverpool would certainly ask the question.
I actually really like Quenda but you may be correct in thinking Chelsea.

They should go all out for Raphinha. He can't defend and play all 3 positions, and is top 3 in world for me over last 4 years. He's a total class act.
