Is it just me or is the african nations a really hard watch, every game is so amateurish not very methodical and just pretty boring hardly any goals either, technically some really good individual players there but not many good sides, It just shows how far peles comments were of the mark when he said an African country would win the world cup by the year 2000, on watching that tourney there won't be any african winner before the next millennium either, thoughts guys.

The only game I've watched was the Nigeria game yesterday and managed about 15 mins as i just couldn't get into it. I won't be in any rush to tune into any more games.

The Cameroon team of the nineties with the likes of Roger Milla was a bit special. I remember them playing England and playing them off the park before losing on penalties. You could see that team challenging for major honours with a couple of upgrades. Unfortunately, instead of progressing it appears they have gone back the way.

Nigeria had a fantastic team back in the day as well, but not very impressive these days.

Davo a lot of people on this site don't really rate big cedric, but I genuinely believe the guy has never had a proper chance in the side I honestly can't ever remember him having back to back starts, I find it really hard to judge a player unless they played about 5-6 games in a row but 20 min cameos here and there is hard to really tell what a player is like or to build confidence for himself, but hey a don't see him in training every day and if I am being honest a reckon the club will just loan him out again to another club who are not bottom of they table were he probably get more game time and chances, but a hope am wrong and he gets another chance.

I partly agree with you 2nd place, I think he is an excellent keeper, really good all rounder comfortable with ball at feet, but I don't necessarily believe that is always enough, if you think back to keepers in the past that's played for the old firm like Foderingham, cammy Bell, Alnwick even diddies like rab Douglas for them, they look good in lesser teams with a lot of shots on goal and saves to make but not much pressure on the outcome of the game, but you need a lot of mental strength as well and superb concentration think back to the likes of the goalie and klos some times hardly a save to make in the match but when it had to be made they were switched on and ready to make it, so I am not so sure if Siegriest would be at that required level wee need to be our no 1.
