Criticism on here of Sterling is poor. When I was a much younger man I recall players like Gregor Stevens, Jim Denny, Alex Miller, Alex MacDonald and Tom Forsyth. Great Gers with great attitude, although could be argued had only average ability as footballers. The boy Sterling fits that description imo and any time he plays I think we look stronger.

I agree, but he's not a central half back right back is his strength imo.

I've not seen much, if any, criticism of Sterling I'd say was unjust.
The only criticism I've seen is that his availability is limited and technically he's not great - both seems pretty fair to me.
For both those reasons I don't think he'll ever hold down a starting position for us - not great given that he's one of our highest earners.

I don't think many people have criticised sterling
Maybe had concerns of his availability which is entirely warranted
Hes not available enough when needed and for me has to be shown the door how is he in any different situation than say ? yilmaz roofe jack balogun they are all decent players but injuries have kept them back and hurt thier careers i don't see sterling being any different we all loved big helander but he was the exact same never available enough to justify wages and for me sterling falls into this category its got nothing to do with player himself or his ability
. just his availability.

His physical attributes are top drawer in my opinion. Technical attributes can always be improved upon on the training pitch.

Give me wee Doddie and Tam Forsyth any day, agree about the rest.

Beale I rate him highly mate. Different players have different skill sets.
Ye won't win a game with 11 messis and won't win it woth 11 Nestas.
Maybe 11 Gerrards but he's a one in a generation player.
Kasa as starter and sterling back up is solid rb position.

Alex MacDonald and Tam Forsyth were great Rangers and wee Doddie in particular didn't have average ability . Big Tam was a Scotland international defender who was great in the tackle. . Alex Miller was an honest trier who could play both fullback positions but the other two you mention were hopeless. Denny was a nervous wreck who never achieved anything in a Rangers shirt and Gregor Stevens was a thug whose biggest claim to fame was the amount of times he was sent off for disgraceful tackles, nothing great about him or Denny.

If it was up to me, I would find a way to get him into the team. He looks great wherever he plays.
