Our midfield certainly looks fantastic, our attack is looking good, and both will hopefully get stronger before the window closes, but our defence worries me, it's definitely the weekest part of the team. Specifically, knowing what we know about the injury and fitness history of Souttar and Balogun, do people think they represent a big enough risk that we should have more than 4 CHs?
I know Sterling can step in at RCB and Yfeko at LCB (I think) but I just have this feeling that this area is much weaker than the rest of the team.

I posted last year that our middle to front was rank and that our defence wasn’t that far off Celtic. I am not convinced of the signing of Leon but trying to fathom Beales reasoning. So I would think that if middle to front is ticking then our goals for will increase and generate less time for opponents to spend in our box. Therefore the 4 CH are good enough for Scottish football. As for Europe not to sure.

By all accounts Ben Davis is open to a move back down south for family reasons.
Hopefully this can b sorted for him with a large portion of any transfer fee going to the 4m The Gunners are asking for Trusty.

You might be right about Scottish games, but I really wouldn't want to be tackling Champions League or even Europa League games with what we have. Look what happened to us last year because of injuries.

What happened to getting your chance when players got injured. This must be a kick in the teeth for all of our defensive youngsters. The path to the first team has been blocked by a 35 year old squad player. Iam not going to saying anything bad about the big man because he loves rangers as much as we do. It’s the wrong move and wrong message to be sending out.

Wages Bailey they would want a sign on fee and probably cost 10k a week in wages I reckon we can get Balogun for around the 3/ 4k mark on a years deal and king was the youngster he’s got injured sadly and we need cover.

Ausbear, totally agree with you. Mayo and Yfeko should be given a chance but if the rumour is that we are going for Balogun then MB doesn't feel they are good enough.
RFC, if it is purely down to money and we didn't want to look at free agents, and we don't want to look at our own youth, surely a loan move for a (potentially) more reliable player would make a lot more sense.

More reliable better player loan fee plus his wages well more than we would pay Balogun if he was coming in without king being injured don’t know if a would be happy but the fact is the guys decent king is injured and he’s low wages.

I was chatting with a work colleague this morning about work firstly and then briefly the changes going on at Ibrox and the player comings and goings. In this chat he asked me if Tav was the right or the best person to lead this team. Now Tav definitely has qualities that you want your captain to have but do we have anyone better? My colleague is a Gunner and thinks very highly of Odegaard and thinks Callum McGregor is by far the best captain in the SPL, and I can't disagree with him in that both are very good. Anyway, I came to the conclusion that Tav isn't currently our strongest candidate for the captaincy and I think Goldson would be a better option to lead the team and I think we would function better overall as a result. Out of curiousity what are other people's thoughts? Could we be a better team under a different captain?

I think leadership is best demonstrated on the field. Skill, consistency, work rate, fitness, and being able to make big plays at the right moments. There isn't anyone on the team right now that has demonstrated this leadership better that Tav and in my humble opinion, there hasn't been anyone that has done it better than him since he put on a rangers shirt.

My problem with Tav is a lot of the time we get beat he isn’t the one doing the interviews when it should be the captain and when he does do it it’s the same old BS we will learn from our mistakes.

Big Ben it's a fair question. Tav is slaughtered by many on here regularly as not being fit to be captain. Personally I disagree but poster is mearly raising question if we have someone better suited. Decent point to debate. I appreciate that Transfermarkt valuations are to be taken with a pinch of salt, but surely they don't just make these numbers up. They must have some sort of a formula to calculate them (or they get them from another source) .
Is it sites like Transfermarkt that are the reason why a lot of people think we undervalue our players?
Colak is potentially going for 2.5m and that site reckons he's valued at 4.5m.

McCrorie is more than good enough to walk straight into the No1 spot at 50% of this seasons Championship teams. I can see him joining one of the mid-table teams and be instrumental in them finishing higher in the table than expected.

Interesting lineup. If you're including players we haven't signed yet, why's Balogun starting? Why not Trusty, Panzo or McKenna? Why's Lammers out of position on LW and not play Lawrence? That's assuming Lawrence comes back as the player he was last summer. Why Danilo out of position on the RW? Why is Sima not in the starting XI?
