Picking up on a post from John, well a reply to sum1
John u said back up keeper will be non Scot.
I read a few weeks back we were showing an interest in a German gk. I’m sure his surname was holm or something similar. He was about 28 and first choice for the club he’s with. This was after we already signed Butland.
Just keep an eye on it and see if we’re linked with him again.
Anyone any info on the gk situation who we may be wanting?

It looks like McCrorie wants to leave which is such a shame. He looks like he could make it here, and will probably be Scotland's number one soon. I knew, as soon as we signed Butland, that McCrorie would want out. McCrorie never did anything wrong - It’s a real shame.

Gutted, would have loved to see McCrorie take I’ve from McGregor longs term, you look at our best keepers over the years and they have all been home grow! I hope we do t regret this move!

Yes guys that is the man I found it strange we wanted him as no2 when we still have mccrorie but obv this mccrorie leaving thing has been going on in the background for a while.
Mccrorie should give it a year or perhaps agree to assess it in January.
Butland could break a leg in the first game of season for example and mccrorie may never look back.
I think he’s making a wrong decision but it’s his to make. Respect him wanting to go play but I. Feel he could give it one more year and if he gets 20 games out of say 60 all going well that’s not too bad. He could prob get Scotland no1 with those amount of games if he performs Christ he could end up taking the no1 spot for us. Performances will dictate that if Butland was to flop he’d get his chance look at lionel letizi and Allan McGregor we were going to sell him to Dunfermline ad they couldn’t afford the £300k do he stayed mf look how that’s turned out for him and us.

On the German guy I once rb hat he’d cost compared to wry wee get for mccrorie n jono.

He wants to be a no1, say he goes to leicester i doubt he will be no1. So you are talking maybe league 1 england or scottish teams where he will get that guarantee. Can they afford 1m? It may turn out that he is loaned out with an emergency recall attached. Or a buy back if its a transfer. If he wants to leave i hope the club let him go but with strings attached in the event butland does get injured.

very strange statement aribo, the vast majority of our best keepers are nothing like home grown, woods, goram klos, never home grown, only mcgregor, you would class as our best,

then you had snelders, charbonnier, ginzburg, foderingham, simonsen, alnwick, christianson, gilks, carroll, dibble, none from here, the vast majority of home grown were poor, big peter and stewart kennedy decent, . no mate, the vast majority of our top keepers didn't come from scotland.

Correct, Tom! Since GS took over in 86, out of all our best keepers, only McGregor was home grown.
I would like to know who Aribo was meaning when he posted that? And, if it was big Peter and S Kennedy, then they most definitely aren't in the mix to be considered some of our "best" keepers!

McCrorie is more than good enough to walk straight into the No1 spot at 50% of this seasons Championship teams. I can see him joining one of the mid-table teams and be instrumental in them finishing higher in the table than expected.

Could it be home grown = Scottish home grown. I think without a doubt our 2 best keeps in our history are Goram and McGregor. So homegrown not untrue?
Loved Klos and Woods too personally but would just really love more of our team to be Scots.

Cheers John. I think we should just refuse the boy his move. Tell him if he’s still unhappy next summer we will let him leave. This is a major decision both as he’s a cracking back up and because the Scot’s trained thing. He’s tied down long term. I’d say if we’re out of Europe by jan window he can go on loan and if not he stays.
By next summer we will have the chance to assess both keepers pick the no1 and he will been gave a required amount of games.
