I believe Liam Kelly meets both homegrown and trained by the club requirements. This is extremely useful for European squads. This makes him a useful asset even when he's sitting on the bench (which is pretty much his job as the number 2). I don't think replacing him as the number 2 will happen anytime soon.

Why is it that supporting a team seems to give friends of posters on here great insight into the transfer dealings of a club?
I support Rangers and never once have the club confided in me about transfer enquiries.

I've posted in January that our new number 1 was done and dusted and that we were close to bringing them in during the last window. It was dependent on Kelly going out on loan, which was very close to happening.
I'm intrigued to see what we do with 3rd choice, as I'm shocked we are letting Wright go, unless of course he's asked to leave.

Ehl, I was more shocked seeing how old he is. What's the point of having a 27yr old 3rd choice keeper? He's never played, and just gets some loans. Surely that position is better going to one of our younger keepers.

Kaiser, the preference is to get an older keeper who is happy to be number 3 and support with the coaching / development of the younger keepers.
The number 3 position is not good for young keepers, as they see virtually no game time, and being number 3 pulls them out of a lot of youth games.

Mystar, we don't really know that until he plays for Rangers. People seem to forget he only got 6 goals or something the year before, and 1 goal in his last 10 games could have just been a purple patch or best season. Only time and a move will tell if he is good or not.

My person opinion on Maswanhise is he's decent, but maybe a little lightweight, but!! Depending on prices, we have to start looking at players within our own league that have done well, and maybe looking at Maswanhise, we can learn to give our own signings a second shot, and maybe they will improve second season. Real quality would adapt quicker though in my opinion.

So according to rumours we want Ward. Maswanhise, Watt and Just from Motherwell. We could also get Slattery on a free, and I think Longello has been really good as a goal scoring left back, then we appoint Askou and we are sorted for next season.

Slattery is a good player, imo, and ideal squad player who showed his quality numerous times in league and against us. Like Devlin at Hearts, both are out of contract and would like either in as a squad player.

My preference would also be for Kelly to stay. Think he is a decent enough back up option, and no worries about him playing instead of Butland either.
