I see a good few different media sites reporting that we're very interested in hammarby's swedish right back hampus skoglund ?I'm sure Aphelion spoke very highly of this guy ? Looks like he could well be our no.1 right back target, to replace Tav ?

23 Apr 2026 18:15:25
Sws, you'll be happy about something I heard today, mate, I was told we're definitely wanting Charles signed, but won't get him as cheap as I said a little while ago, but not a great deal more, we need to be very quick though.

23 Apr 2026 18:20:14
SWS, my information is he is not primary target, but is certainly high on the list.
If he has been elevated to primary target, it can only mean that any deal for Diogo Travossos is now beyond reach.

Contrary to the post above, it is my understanding that there is no interest in Pierce Charles.

23 Apr 2026 18:35:49
My star, Gareth McAuley, the former Rangers and Northern Irish centre half, said yesterday that Rangers should definitely make moves to sign Pierce Charles, as he stated this young goalkeeper in his opinion is going to the very top and was waxing lyrical about his ability. ? Aphelion, I don't know which goalkeeper we'll sign, but hand on heart, I'd be gobsmacked if Danny Rohl isn't interested in Charles, a keeper he rates very highly.

? My star, like yourself, I'd be delighted if we signed Charles, as long as his injuries don't plague him that he's previously had. ?

23 Apr 2026 18:42:40
SWS, Danny Rohl might value him well and enjoy working with him.

That does not automatically mean we would actively target him.

I believe that some clubs in England will pay a higher fee than we would be willing to pay for the player.

I also believe there are goalkeepers who are better that would cost less.

The good thing is window has approx 18 weeks till it shuts.

The good thing is Charles can be used as a ten as well.

23 Apr 2026 18:57:37
John, is there interest in Shea?

23 Apr 2026 19:06:55
Most are raving about him now, sws.

John, Pierce Charles, not Shea, unbelievable feet for a keeper.
Would love his brother as well, probably out of reach now, won't be very long before Pierce is out of our reach.

23 Apr 2026 19:07:21
Aphelion, I haven't seen anything of how good our prospective right back targets Trovossas and Skoglund are as Tav's replacement. ? I know you really rate and like Skoglund, so, I assume you rate Skoglund a better right back than Trovossas, mate. ?

23 Apr 2026 19:21:07
Sws, I have already answered you regarding that.

I have not seen enough of Travossos to formulate a conclusive opinion of him.

I do not wish to compare who is better when I don't have enough knowledge of one of the players to say either way.

23 Apr 2026 20:07:07
Aphe, not at this stage.

My star, if his feet r that good he must be able to play outfield, not the first goalkeeper to forge a career outfield.

For anyone, name a goalkeeper who played outfield for Rangers?

23 Apr 2026 20:20:04
Thanks, John, I think I totally missed your hint at sarcasm regarding Pierce Charles' ability with his feet.

That ability has not translated into researchable stats as yet.

23 Apr 2026 20:21:30
Probably has played outside when younger, John, or maybe just with his friends and brother, good feet, he's outside his box often.
I don't not know the Rangers keeper though.

23 Apr 2026 20:27:09
My star is a player who started his youth career as a goalkeeper with a famous club.
I'll give a few a chance and answer tomorrow, mate.

23 Apr 2026 20:37:17
Derek Johnston John.

23 Apr 2026 20:37:41
John, you trying to tell me he could play outside with his brother? I'm saying he has very good feet for a keeper, only 20 year old, and most will say the best keeper in the Championship, rated very highly. We don't get him now, we'll never get him and our keeper coach will know that just the same as Rohl.

23 Apr 2026 20:44:21
You saying the Manchester City academy won't have a younger keeper working with the ball at his feet, John?

23 Apr 2026 20:53:29
My star, I saw him plenty in Man City youth, that's all clubs want nowadays, sweeper keeper.

23 Apr 2026 20:59:03
John, that's all I'm saying, mate, good feet for a keeper.

23 Apr 2026 21:00:21
John, I get you now, mate.

23 Apr 2026 21:11:36
Cheers, my star. I've never said he's not a good player. Unlikely to come to Rangers. More chance going to Man City as a 2 or 3.
