When you watch continental teams ( club or international), when they move forwards it's always at pace, players running into spaces, it's like they have twice as many players on the pitch. We are slow and laborious, with " possession " the name of the game, and until we get out of this mindset we will not advance at all!

They are coached to not fear making mistakes.

It's not just continental teams , both Wales and N. Ireland try to play with pace and move the ball quickly. Our football was shown to be old fashioned in the World Cup and although the new guy might want to change that, I suspect he will struggle due to the lack of talent available to him.
There is not much coming through and guys like Robertson are so far over the hill he probably can't even see it in the distance.
One thing I will say is Pocognoli won't get anywhere playing square pegs in round holes , that never works.
