Anyone else enjoy Dujon Sterling's presser yesterday? It's not often a player gives such honest, straightforward responses.
- Wants to play right back, told he was brought in to the club for this position but things changed
- Rushed back from previous injuries which is why he couldn't get a run of games
- Advised to avoid artificial surfaces to reduce the risk of injury reoccurrence
- Relishes the challenge of playing up against wingers who are direct but he feels like not many of them want to take him on
Some might feel like he gave away too much info but I personally found it quite refreshing. No politicians answers and gives the fans an honest insight.

I actually put a post up about press conferences of McInnes and Devlin saying similar about honesty and getting it, I like to hear different rather than generic answers.
Ps, I got to a comment saying are we going for the Press conference cup or something along the lines which I found a tad harsh ha, think my point was missed.

I like big Dujon but didn't listen to his presser. Did he really say he was told he would be playing right back when he signed? Tav was still at the club and was our captain. He was always going to play in front of Dujon at that time. It was only the fact that Clement identified what a good all round player he was that he started getting games in midfield etc, or he wouldn't have played much.
I have to laugh too about him being rushed back after injuries. He is out for weeks and months at a time when he gets injured. Hope you stay fit though, and your problems are over now, Dujon.

Wsl, I don't think he was necessarily saying that he expected to play every game - he was signed from Chelsea u21s. He alluded to the inconsistencies in positions being a factor in his form/injuries.
As for him being rushed back, his point was that this ultimately led to further and more lengthy injuries.
He mentioned the club spent the summer getting to the root of the problem, and he hopes the consistency in his game now will enable him to play regularly.
Calf injury incoming tonight after us discussing this. 😬

He's one of our longest serving players. It's about time we actually started seeing something from him. Hope he can stay fit.

I can understand him being moved around being a factor in his form, although I do think he was excellent in midfield, our Big Phil. I struggle with the idea that is a factor in the amount of injuries he has had. There are plenty of players who have played multiple positions. I also disagree that he was ever 'rushed back', and the club always seems to be trying to get to the root cause of his issues.
Rumour at one point was that he had a medical issue that made him more susceptible to muscle injuries. When he signed he had an eye issue, he's snapped his Achilles tendon and had countless muscle pulls and strains, so I hope that we have got to the bottom of it. Maybe he needs to take a look at his lifestyle off the pitch, that has helped some players in the past.
