Very interested to hear McInnes say not playing Raskin in Europe was not his decision, he states that instruction came from above.

Expected a sale for sure, John.

Think, after Chermiti getting injured, they couldn't take the chance. Was it an incorrect decision now that no acceptable bid came in for him? There will be different views on that.
Would playing Raskin have got us through? I'm not so sure. Anyway it's done and dusted, so I'm looking forwards.

Yes, but ultimately failed. It absolves the manager from euro defeat.

That's one thought, John. The side we were playing are not a good team. Should the loss of 1 player absolve the manager from blame? Poor tactics and weird changes in formation and players, all absolved because he was told not to play Raskin. That's too far of a stretch for me, but everybody is entitled to their view. That is just how I see it.

It's the damned if you do, damned if you don't argument. If Chermiti hadn't played against Hibs, and we lost, as we did, then he wasn't sold, then the argument would have been why wasn't he played rather than why did he play and risk injury, as it currently is. They took the opposite decision with Raskin and that failed too.
Bottom line is we lost two games that we should have won with or without Chermiti and Raskin. We have more talent than Hibs and Jabolec, but the players who did play didn't turn up and that's on them, not because we were missing one player.

I can understand with what happened with Chermiti, but in other words, the manager doesn't pick the team. The powers of above may just have cost them a pretty penny for not qualifying.

I'd rather the manager told them to keep their nose out of footballing matters.

Should have had plenty to beat that mob, after the Chermiti injury would have done the same knowing the luck we have.
