What a borefest and painful watch that was.
Anyway, 3 points courtesy of a pen and a disallowed goal (both correct decisions by the way). Extremely fortunate as we were never scoring from open play.
Strikers that can't score, midfielders who can create, and defenders who can't defend. Oh dear oh dear oh dear, not the makings of a football team that is going to challenge for honours me thinks.
However, every cloud and all that, we only have to watch us once a week now we're out of Europe.

For the large part, we defended pretty well, all in all. Midfield were starting to show glimpses of creativity, and Minsu looks a really positive addition.
Finishing could definitely use some improvement, but a lot of that comes with confidence.

We defended okay today, Fernandez won every defensive header and the other three did ok too. We had some promising positions going forward, but made poor decisions with the final ball. Big issue for me is that Shankland was poor again, his lack of mobility makes him almost impossible to find with a pass and his link up play is not great either.
Easy to see why we are trying to sign at least one more striker. Not great today but deserved to win.

Don't need to worry about me EHL, might not see these players up close or see them train, but I do have eyes and over 50 years watching us. The current team and the way they play will never compete for silverware unless there is a remarkable improvement.
That is my opinion, based on what I see, nothing more.
We are awful with no discernable style of play, and devoid of leadership both on and off the park by the looks of it. We actually look like we have regressed.
I do get it, baby steps and all that, be happy with the small increments of improvement, but feck me, the money we've spent and this is what we're being served up. C'mon gies a break.
I have been a Ger for 55 years and will of course follow follow as I have always done and will continue to do so until I die, but allow me my opinion based on what I see.

Ehl, I'm same mate, just no pleasing some at times, on here having a go when we get beat, also having a go when we win, probably one of the many that totally wrote us off today.

"They'll take a couple of us today"
Sometimes when you get it wrong, you have to man up and say so, maybe give a little credit for a hard thought win.

3 points n up the road. That is all that matters and all that ever will matter. Back the team or back off. It's about time we backed the team regardless. 👍 👍 That would go a long way to sorting the mess out. Our fans are one of our main problems.
