I've always maintained it's way to early to judge these new signings and to a larger extent McInnes.
I wasn't convinced McInnes was the right fit but with the club allowing Rohl to leave they backed themselves into a corner and even if they wanted to had no time to run a recruitment process.
On McInnes, every team he's coached that I've watched over the years look well coached, drilled and know what they're doing.
We're a million miles off that just now. It's been 6 plus weeks and from what I've saw so far we look disjointed bordering on clueless.
It's alarming that a guy known for producing teams well drilled is now in overseeing 1 all over the gaff.
We have a very difficult run of fixtures domestically against teams minus Aberdeen who done quite well last year.

I mentioned it in a post that's now miles away, Iron.
But from what I hear, McInnes is now seeing that we have a large core of players who are unable to transfer what they do in training on to the pitch - most of which are the basics.
There's no doubt McInnes worked on a specific shape, and purposely selected that midfield to protect the backline line and keep things tight.
It's a sore one, but I can guarantee that those who are letting him down won't be in the team for long - providing we have alternatives.
The video analysts will be working OT, producing the reels for Fernandez, Chuki, Neil, Chermiti and Thelo.
I've said a few times that the first few weeks of the season are going to be tough and that I expect them to be the making of the team - I stand by it and believe we'll come out of this stronger and with a core of players who actually show the characteristics we expect.

The biggest issue I have with the McInnes appointment was not him as a manager. It was a lack of continuity in approach. When Rohl left, we could easily have brought in another RB style coach.
That would have created stability in the team approach as well as recruitment.
Instead we went in another direction. We have seen before that jumping from one thing to another in this way does not work, particularly in the short term.
I don't blame DM for this, but it's Rangers, so he needs to get results asap or he will be gone like the others. Given the change in approach, he should be given time, but we know it won't happen.
Recruitment wise, I feel this summer is also a hangover from last year and Thewell setting us up for failure. We are probably looking at 13 new players over the window. That's also not a recipe for success, as we have also seen too many times.
There is still time to turn it around, and for DM to start getting results, but we are such a difficult club to manage because of all the changes every single season.
Would any manager succeed in that environment? I am really not sure they would.

Agree, EHL. I think we've still got 4/5 involved in the matchday squad that are not Rangers players. I think we still have more than a few who are still learning their trade, and have very few, if any, senior players around them to help them, and we need 4/5 that are good enough to start now.
Not in 2/3 yrs. It's not a quick fix, but you can be organised and difficult to beat in the meantime.

Tommy, I've been saying this for yrs. The Club need to decide this is how we play, and we're not deviating. That many different styles and recruiting to suit since Gerrard left, it's just an absolute mess, and McInnes is cleaning that up, and many expect him to solve a decade long problem in 6 weeks, 1 month into his 1st window.
This is a multi faceted problem created by successive Rangers boards.

Agree with EHL, panty wetters on this site sometimes, seen a lot worse from Gers team in Europe at this time of year and nowhere near the meltdown, going to take a while before we even see how the team in shipping up but those who are not up for it will not be here or in team September

Agree, Ehl, from the snippets we see in the training videos, it's completely different players on the park.
I counted 4 passes Chukwauni made to Yokota on the break that were so slow and not hard enough that Yokota had to run back towards the ball to get it. It's embarrassing a pro player can't hit a 10 yard pass with the proper weight.

Some of the players involved in the match day squad who are letting us down are the ones everyone was banging on about being worth £25illion the past few weeks.
Fernandez, if you're lucky, would be about £8 million.
Chermiti, maybe £15 because he's a forward.
Aasgaard, £8 million.
Chukwuani isn't worth what we paid for him.
They're luxury players we can't afford to be wandering about in a blue jersey.

Lifelong Rangers supporter and 2 competitive games into the season, and still in with a chance of progressing after last night's result, but lots of doom and gloom.

When you're at least winning domestically on a consistent basis, Cooper, it's easier to stomach. That's why Walter got away with it in his time at Rangers. We struggled a lot in Europe but domestically we steam rolled the league.
