Does anyone know how much of a loan fee we received for bagrami? And how much we will save on his salary for a year? The wage bill must be decreasing rapidly?

Not sure on loan fee but apparently they are covering his full wage.

Couple reputable sites place Bajrami on 30 k a week, this includes signing on fee.

Reports indicating we r getting 1 million loan fee, excellent business if we r slim.

That's decent, John, especially if they are covering his wages.

Thanks, John.

Rfc, I fully understand they r 100% covering wages.

EHL said something about a loan deal that would benefit us more than a permanent one. I've been trying to figure out what that meant for days.

If we can get a loan fee this window, and a transfer fee next summer, that sounds like a good deal. Maybe this is the one he was hinting about.

What EHL said was that Bajrami's fee we paid was spread over his 4-year contract. He is now 2 years into that contract. So, effectively, we still owe Sassuolo, his former club, something like £1.75m, so if we were to sell now at, say, £1m, the club would be losing £750k.

Whereas now, the club are reportedly getting a £1m loan fee and the Saudi club are paying 100% of Bajrami's wage, with the option to sell next year, which would see us, possibly, make a small profit.

It's pretty much the same way most transfers are arranged these days.

Foolmonty, it isn't how and when we pay Sassuolo but how we write it off the books over 4 years. So selling this year would mean we lose money from the transfer pot. Next year, at right price and we add to it.
