Morning all.
Going by reports, it looks like our new signing will be this Japanese lad. I know nothing about this lad, so hopefully others in here do and can give some feedback on him.
I see some are not happy, or concerned. Surely they have cause to be? Even the most blinkered of supporters can see there has been a massive downgrade on our squad from last season? This downgrade isn't an overnight thing, is it? There's been a steady downgrade since we won 55, and since then, our squad has been noticeably weaker season after season.
When a supporter like John, who is probably the most respected poster on here, voices his concerns on the quality of our signings, and how our top targets knocked us back due to where we find ourselves, alarm bells should be ringing.
Look, I know many won't be happy with posts like this, but I'm on here to voice my opinion and not be a people pleaser. An open fan forum must allow differing opinions
no matter who they upset. That's life! I respect everyone on here, and their different opinions, and if they want to go through life without questioning the club, players, managers etc, then it's their choice. We are all supporters, but just because we are, does not, for one minute, mean we do not have the right to ask questions or raise concerns.
I hope I am wrong, and if I am, you know me well enough that I'll come on here, hold my hands up, and eat as much humble pie that is thrown my way.

I have no clue, mate. Most Japanese players I have watched over the years, especially those across the city, are high energy, which is a positive. In regards to quality or technical ability, he must have something or he wouldn't be where he is now in football.
I'd also add I don't think you need to be top quality to do well in the SPFL.
I will, as always, ignore all the negative comments and over hyping based on YouTube videos, and give him at least a dozen games before attempting to form an opinion on him.
We've plucked many out of nowhere before, who were largely unknown, who done well.
The same comments would've been made then as well if the internet had existed.
Just my penny's worth for what it's worth. Opinions will vary.

For me, the worst rumour this season is Raskin's sale isn't linked to potential signings. And yet he's still here and we ain't signing the likes of Dahl.
Nobody on here really knows why Raskin hasn't been sold yet. Could be a number of things, but it's obvious he's holding up the transfers!

Sunshine, always enjoy your posts. Many criticise the club for not looking at markets outside our usual area and asking why we don't explore the Asian markets. I've never heard of this player. Concerns me a little that he didn't represent Japan in the World Cup squad. But, like every player, I will judge him on how he plays for us. We certainly need wide players.

Valid points, Sunshine. However, folk up in arms at the Japanese winger (I know nothing about him) from Hannover. Are we going to sign wingers from Bayern or Dortmund? Give the guy a chance. Folk wanting homegrown players, as it has not worked with all of the foreigners, so we sign some? We will never get back to what we once were, but we are 1 draw into the new season and the reaction is way over the top in my opinion.
Some say that mob sign quality over quantity, but they have had a strong core of players for many years, so only need to sign a couple when we have to keep changing managers and ripping it up to start again.

JFM, if he was at the World Cup then he wouldn't be signing for us as a lot of the Japanese wingers are brilliant.

The main reason for the decline is a new manager every couple of months, coupled with backing the wrong managers like Martin & Beale, whilst Gio wasn't allowed any say on players he wanted, & Clement had to sell before buying. No manager has been afforded time like Gerrard to build a squad & get rid of other managers' signings that haven't worked.
He signed some absolutely garbage players too that some forgot.
Celtic only lose 1 or 2 players, then replace them with equal & sometimes better quality. Rodgers pretty much screwed everything up with his complaining & signed players he wanted.
