I think he was in the top 2/3 of CBs I've watched. For a guy at 5'9 he was absolutely brilliant in most departments. That entire Milan back 4 are the best defensive unit football has produced in my lifetime.
CostaCurta was an outstanding CB partner, Maldini was impeccable at LB, and the guy often forgotten, Mauro Tassotti, was an unsung hero at RB. Tough as they come and positionally brilliant. Fly high Franco!
