Why do we struggle so much to shift players on? Other than OOC, return loans and loanees. We haven't moved anyone yet and there's many to shift.
What if we can't get them moved? We'll loose out on a better quality of player.
Is it a concern to anyone that with just a week to go before our first league game we're stuck at the moment.

Because most of them are dross, and no one wants them, especially with the big wages we stupidly have them on.

No need to be this stressed out about it. It sounds as if Rangers are still in the hunt.

We are pretty unsuccessful with these players, we want rid of them.
They are not other teams' first choices.
Other teams may not want to pay their wages until end of the window.
Other teams are also waiting on players to move or deals agreed for their own surplus.
Domino effect is real in transfer windows, unfortunately most of the time.

We do not play these players, so other clubs can't see what they are like now, and have to resort to what is on YouTube or what they remember from 2 years ago. So, are you going to buy a player under those conditions? So what we end up with is a club willing to loan the player with perhaps an option. Those tend to happen nearer the end of the window, where they are filling gaps in a squad.
Don't think we are alone in this issue with these types of players.
I was also under the impression that all of our high earners were now off books, with Butland being the last. So it isn't the club giving high wages to new players imo.

Gazza, we struggle to shift them because they are duds. We overpaid in transfer fees and wages to begin with, and now we are stuck with them because no other club is daft enough to pay them what we are. So they'll hang around or go on loan, where we will continue to pay the majority of their wages until their contracts expire. It's indicative of our recruitment and recruitment team over the last 5 years.
It's staggering that the last 5 summers have been a complete rebuild. I said yesterday that 90% of our signings have failed during this period. It's probably more than that. The fact that we kept repeating the same mistakes proves we had no direction and incompetence throughout our club.
