How many folk actually believe Butland will leave?
I've never fancied him as our no1 but I don't see a market out there for him and he's under contract.
I think he'll stay. Hope I'm wrong.

Needs moved on. If he stays, we'll get nowhere. We got him for free (I think), so we don't need a high fee & believe he wants to leave. Could be 3rd choice at Premier League clubs or 1st/2nd in the Championship. Gunn linked with Manchester United & he's not great either.

Don't think he'll be anywhere near as big a problem with McInnes' style of play, mate. The rumoured goalies linked to replace him also haven't filled me with confidence. Think it's a case of be careful what you wish for, don't want to downgrade.

I agree, Wishy, I'm not a fan but under McInnes and a more organised, hard working side I'd have less concerns. I hope he is replaced but he's not a priority looking at the squad for me. I'm not sure what McInnes thinks though.

McInnes has praised him in the past but of course he wasn't managing him then. Much will depend on his personal motivations, e.g., does he want to move back to England with his young family?
Goalkeeping aside, he also seems to have been part of a fairly ineffectual senior, I hesitate to use the word leadership, group, according to accounts I have read on these pages.
Perhaps best for all if he moves on.

Butland's problem isn't the playstyle, he isn't the same stopper from 2 years. The last 10 league games he faced 37 shots on target & conceded 20. Some of the games he didn't make a single save or concede the first 2, then started saving. He fell apart last season too & when he didn't get called up for England the season before.

Would be a very wise move having a new number one next season.
