I know the rules about double punishment but it was weird seeing the Qatar guy getting yellow card being changed to a red after the penalty was changed to a direct free kick.

I think he will do well, he's experienced enough while still relatively young in management terms, he won't be surprised by or underestimate the league opponents, and I doubt he will allow his players to do so either.
And some, including myself, would argue he has done a better job than should be expected at his previous clubs, especially Hearts last season. I feel he will get back to doing the basics well and working hard together as a unit.
