First time poster here (long time reader). I'm really pleased to see McInnes appointed as manager. While Rohl presented himself well, for me his lack of tactical progress meant he'd ultimately lost the fans. Or was going to.

We desperately need an experienced figurehead, and since this job is the absolute pinnacle for McInnes (as mentioned by another poster), there's very little risk of him being headhunted. Prying him away from Hearts in such a strong position shows real ambition from the board, and I'm confident he has assurances he will be fully backed for success.

Welcome to the mad house, mate.

Playing devil's advocate here, what has McInnes done that Rohl didn't? In fact, I could argue that, as Rohl managed to claw back so many points on Hearts with a team that weren't properly conditioned, that Rohl out performed McInnes on most aspects. Indeed, where were McInnes' tactical strengths on the final last few games when he blew the league?

Geesadodothat, fair point. But like Clement, Rohl got a new manager bounce, which is always doable at Rangers with Ibrox and our resources, especially with no real league pressure at the time. Towards the end of the season, the tactical improvement just wasn't there defensively or in attack, and we looked like we'd never score.

We'll never know what a full pre-season under Rohl would have looked like. However, we've cracked multiple times at the business end of the season recently. Right now, imo, we need proven experience over another philosophy manager. Time will tell, but the timing feels right to me.

Geesa, maybe he wasn't given the league like another manager, again, I feel the Motherwell result was the biggest sting in the tail for Hearts.

Whilst I am delighted if McInnes is in, I don't quite think he will be the Mesiah so many are assuming. Folk think he will do better with a superior squad . . . The same squad that finished 3rd behind the team McInnes put together & the same superior squad that didn't win a trophy. I think McInnes will need time to get the squad balanced out & we don't have the best track record of giving gaffers time, do we? ??‍♂️.

In saying that, I am excited to see what he can do & now were settled & backed financially, this is obviously a better time for him to do a job than when he was offered it before as we were a mess back then. I will back him & the team 100%, but this next season will rely on recruitment & how quickly they can gel together.
