Iron, we should be looking for that dog that used to give rumours on here when it ran into Tav on walks all the time. I think he was always accurate. Easy to interrogate as well: one bark for yes, two for no. ?

We'll all know soon enough, I hope! I had reservations about Rohl, but I'm not convinced him leaving a week before pre season starting is a good thing. However, if he wants to go and is offered a job on better money, closer to his family, I can't bag him for that. I'd do the same in that scenario.

Iron, I think the timing is poor, but tbh, if we choose a coach with same principles then will it be smoother. This happens all the time in football with a new manager coming in at start of a new season. All the players have been off anyway, so what can that manager do apart from a bit of planning. I think everyone thinks he does recruitment, but that is almost all entirely down to Recruitment.
Manager might get a say on which of a couple of choices he prefers, but they will be to fit our club system. Sad he is going though, as he showed signs last year of being a good coach and more so as what we really need is stability. I do await 2-3 weeks of McInnes, and Gerrard for manager threads though. ?

Angus, a week before pre season is not ideal, I agree, but if it's to be closer to his family and he's not asked to leave, and RBS have approached Rangers and we're open to him going, I've no issues. Gerrard or McInnes ??♂️ I'd rather have neither, if I'm honest, but I'm not convinced we can attract top managers just now.

Gone onto a second page but I agree re choice of new managers. I hope, like players, we are a little more inventive and searching for our new manager. Also I don't have an issue with what people call project managers. But I don't buy into the SPL being a totally different league from any other so it sent as important.
There will be fans of 2nd place clubs everywhere saying the same on their forums. Rohl picked it up fairly quickly so if it is true, hopefully we do a wider search to find the right manager, whoever that is. Whoever it is will split the fans as it always has been that way.

I don't think the threads will last 2 or 3 weeks, as we need to get somebody in tout-de-suite.
