The club said in a statement: "The disorder that occurred on Sunday was unacceptable and we condemn it unequivocally. Safety must always come first in football, for supporters, players and everyone working in and around the game.

"What we can say now is that issues of stadium safety and the legacy of the Ibrox Disaster are deeply personal to this club.

"We were appalled to discover graffiti within the stadium referencing that tragedy. The memory of the 66 supporters who lost their lives in January 1971 deserves dignity and respect.

"To desecrate their memory is vile. It is cowardly. It is shameful. This is not football rivalry and it is not banter. It is the abuse of a tragedy that claimed 66 lives.
Finally, it is important that the reputation of Rangers supporters is treated fairly in this discussion. Tens of thousands of people attended Ibrox on Sunday simply to support their team with pride and to watch a football match. We will not accept a narrative that ignores the full context of what happened. ".

We all know who was responsible from our own fans, time to get shot of them.

This bit stands out, "We will not accept a narrative that ignores the full context of what happened." Good to see the club won't accept their rhetoric to deflect from the graffiti desecrating the memory of the 66.

They were there wholly to cause trouble on Sunday. From the very start, ticketless folk bursting in through the turnstiles proves it. If they didn't have tickets, why were they there if it wasn't for trouble? They also knew exactly what they were doing by getting onto the park at full time.

The graffiti is a disgrace, but I wholly expect our resident neds would do similar at Parkhead given half a chance.

However, our fans are just as much to blame for the trouble at the end as they are. Every single season ticket for that area should be cancelled, and use it to allow families or something in for free until the end of the season.

Without a doubt, bud, they would, yet some want to send them on courses to behave. Lunacy n deflection from our side, making excuses.

Give TheGuy,
Are you advocating getting shot of people that never got involved purely because they are associated with the UB?

Fork,
I think that's fair enough from the club.

I'm all for any individuals that are found involved having appropriate action taken against them by the club.

Let's see what the independent review has to say, and let the police do their job finding and charging the individuals involved.

I've said my piece on it now and have decided to concentrate on the football from now on, and let the club, with authorities, deal with it.

Honestly, I feel we need to look at our own fan base. Not just the UB, 'cause at times it sounds like the whole stadium singing, esp against Celtic. The same fans up in arms about Celtic mocking the 66 are the same ones singing about Jock Stein, Celtic Boys Club, Irish Famine, etc.

12 Mar 2026 20:13:30
I'd agree with that, Paul, absolutely no need for all that mince, bud, bigotry n bile is a constant, even when Celtic are not involved. Tbh, I'm not a fan of the UB, as most know.

12 Mar 2026 20:15:12
Co2, I'm getting a bit too agitated by it tbh. Think I'll follow your lead n step back to the football.

12 Mar 2026 22:02:22
Absolutely, Paul. It's disgraceful.

12 Mar 2026 22:57:33
Union Bears have shamed the club a lot over the last couple of years. A pity, as if they screwed the nut they could be great for the club, but I fear they never will.

12 Mar 2026 21:21:26
I would absolutely ban anyone associated with UB. Anyone who choses to align themselves with those who act as they do shouldn't be allowed in again. You fly with the crows, you get shot with the crows.

12 Mar 2026 23:17:46
Paul, you are so right about some of our vile chants. I would say the truth is an element of football fans in general are prepared to sing vile songs to goad opponents and offend people.

In the 1970s I travelled on a supporters bus where some eejits loved singing about the Man United Munich plane crash.

I also read Feyenoord fans used to make the noise of gas chamber doors closing as a sickening way of getting to Ajax fans who are supposed to have a percentage of Jewish fans.

All of these things make any decent football fan sick to the pit of their stomach.

CO2 yeah anybody associated with them and who take part in what they do should have their season ticket ripped up as far as I'm concerned, they're are plenty of people who could take their place, they've had plenty of chances but have no interest in what's best for the club.
