Someone asked the other day about who do they think will have a successful career then gave a list of players.
I've been thinking what actually makes a successful career?
Longevity in the game 300/ 400 games?
Personal accolades, motm, goals scored over a career etc.
Level of the game played, international, CL, EPL.
Trophies.
Or is it a bit of everything?
I'll use some of our players as examples.
Tav has had a great career in terms of personal achievements/ goals/ poty etc but trophy wise maybe not the best, certainly not what you'd expect as a Rangers captain over 10 years maybe? That's not a dig it's just an example.
Let's take Raskin for example if he goes and plays in the EPL for 4-5 years mid table teams, has a good international career and maybe a cup.
Dio moves to France but wins the league 3 times but not as many caps
What's the better career there?
Anyway thought it would be interesting to see what ppls opinions are in this kinda thing.

Raskin for playing in a far better league imo, plus having a good international career with a decent national side, Diomande is not going win three leagues either unless he's playing for psg, personal opinion though, Diomande will have a better career.

Think there is an argument that Dio already has a massively successful career. Coming through the highly competitive RtD academy in Africa, moving to Scandinavia and then onto Rangers. From his background that is an exceptional achievement.

What turned me off Taverner was the answer to the question what is the highlight of your career so far? Not being Rangers captain not being captain of the league champions, or Scottish cup winners or scoring the winner in the league cup final or even leading the team to Europa league final, no being the highest scoring defender in the UK . tells you everything you need to know about him, personal glory before the team, never a Rangers captain in a million years, should have been let go 5 years ago or sold but nobody wanted him anyway . an arsehole.
