Get young Shankland from Ayr, let him train and play beside Morelos and Lafferty and let’s see what he’s made of.

Your right I agree can get him for about 200k!

Put him on loan to a SPL team for experience as probably no get a game My guess is Dundee being a good option Badly needing reinforcements upfront and Neil McCann has a great connection with Rangers!

Better Shankland plying hid trade at highest level in Scotland rather than pitting against teams in the Championship

Just a thought What you think lads?

Behave polar
Doesnt match our ambition.

3.) 30 Aug 2018 22:32:00
I don't understand this fascination with shankland. It's got Clarke written all over it.

4.) 30 Aug 2018 22:40:30
Doesn't cost much though till i die

So a risk worth taking in my eyes Might end up a wee gem!

5.) 30 Aug 2018 22:45:57
"Young" Shankland who is 23? Talk about lack of ambition!

Why don't spend £1.5 million. Get Lafferty in, young Lawrence Shankland from Ayr and Jones from Kilmarnock, after that squad would almost be complete.

1.) 21 Aug 2018 19:19:54
Do you mean the reserve squad? 😐.

2.) 21 Aug 2018 20:28:24
'Young' Lawrence Shankland is older than a third of our squad and is nowhere near the level required. Jones has pace and nothing else, another Mickey O'Horrible. The lack of ambition here is ridiculous. Even Lafferty wouldn't be a guaranteed starter. The name of the game is to improve us, not drag us backwards.

3.) 21 Aug 2018 22:12:07
I've seen Jones on TV a few times including last weekend against us and he seems to have a fair bit of skill as well as pace. He was their danger man against us.

Morning guys,
You just wonder if DK had originally promised MW money to spend when he joined the club, but it seems to me now that DK is dragging his heels, I just hope that MW doesn't become frustrated with the lack of funds to build his team that he is then lured away to another team who are willing to dip into their pockets. At the same time you don't want Rangers held to ransom, but this WAR CHEST that was promised has never materialised!

Thoughts?

I personally believe that Ashley has us by the short and curlies. I said at the time that there would be financial booty traps left by the last mob. This has a long way to run yet. Whether King will invest £? remains to be seen. Are we better off than we were with the last lot, definitely in my opinion. Let's see how successful the selling of unlicensed goods is. We do not have the funds, but as fans we are every bit as stubborn as Ashley. His ego will always get in the way, but like every one who has walked this planet, he will be dust one day.

2.) 15 Jan 2016 09:26:46
Exactly PB. You've hit the nail right I the head there. I certainly don't want to go down the same old route as before where spending is concerned however, we're not talking millions here, just enough to see us over the line. If The Hat wants O H, then surely 600K isn't being held to ransome, once again, they're not asking a couple of million, just pay it.
According to Dave, the millions will be spent next year in pursuit of the league title and then our inevitable foray into Europe.
I trust Dave a he'll of a lot more than anything we've had recently but it's now time for him to back up all his talk with the cold hard cash.

3.) 15 Jan 2016 09:39:38
We have got to trust the board money will be spent in summer if we are back in SPL i wouldn't splash the cash in the league we are in and we have a squad more than capable of winning this league . the board are having to sort out a massive mess left by the rats and no doubt are finding new stuff coming out every day and with constant court cases do we really think its wise to just go oh is that how much you want aye here take it . however while i trust the board i would like a wee bit more transparancy and for them to come out and tell us their wider plans for future.

4.) 15 Jan 2016 09:59:44
Cuillin, do you think selling the unlicenced goods will pay for transfer fees?

5.) 15 Jan 2016 10:04:29
I agree with what you say bigt as well re having enough to see us get promotion. The point is though, Rangers are pursuing these guys so obviously want to sign them. The amounts being touted aren't mega millions so why look like penny pinchers. They are players for the future so just pay the money and be done with it.

6.) 15 Jan 2016 10:16:14
So many contradictions going on. " Our squad is already good enough and if we win the league ", " let's spend but not too much ", the list runs.

Buying players in the past did not cause our liquidation. What's too much for a player? We all know we're fooling ourselves as if the money was our own and expect to land bargains. Well if they are then we're really admitting they're worth more. We say Waghorn and Tavernier are worth 10 X what we paid for and they probably are, or more. Did Rangers make them 10 X better players? That's stretching it a bit. Are O'Halloran and Diagouraga worth what their clubs are asking? They are to them. Both would be good and reasonable buys if we pay close to what's being asked. Why should I be unhappy if we sign them at a fair price to buyers and sellers?

7.) 15 Jan 2016 13:53:01
Sounezz, like I said, let's see how successful it could be. I was not implying that it would pay transfer fees. It could, with enough people supporting it, be a significant boost to the club's coffers if as stated money goes towards the club. The more Ashley digs his heels in, maybe more and more people will stop buying direct. It may dwindle away, but give it a chance.

8.) 15 Jan 2016 15:27:26
Ok Cuillin. Got you mate.

Morning guys, just an observation....... As well as Rangers are playing, the full backs pushing on do worry me, and this was highlighted against St J. With both of them bombing forward, I think Halliday has to sit and protect the back two, that's where we're getting caught out, or if one fullback goes the other one sits in to make a three and Halliday pushes on, no having a dig, just an observation, I'm delighted with the transformation in Rangers since last year.
Any thoughts guys????

The team needs a stronger spine with some more physical players. We have signed a lot of skilful players however we are far too lightweight. We need a strong centre half, imposing midfielder and a big centre forward. Not saying we then revert to the high ball but we need to let other teams know we are there and be a match physically for anyone

All we're hearing is Scott Allan, Scott Allan, if he comes all well and good, and he would be a good addition to a squad that looks like night and from the past few years, but what about this name, who I think would also be a very astute signing. Charlie Christie from Inverness??
Thoughts people.

Ryan* good player but I think it would take a big amount to get him, they have such a small squad. Peter pawlett would be a good signing.

2.) 11 Aug 2015 17:14:31
I'm sure it's Ryan Christie if I'm not mistaken.
And I don't know why it is annoying everyone so much about Allan. How can people get tired of it? Speculation happens all the time among players and clubs and I think we will just have to get used to it because whether people like it or not it will keep going until the day he signs.

He is a good player and will 100% get better, watched him at Hibs a lot last season as a Rangers fan and he is an exciting player. I'm not trying to say he is the best player ever by any means but in terms of the position we are in he is the one of the best we can get!

{Ed039's Note - It is Ryan, Charlie is his father)

3.) 11 Aug 2015 20:16:34
played with celtic I think

{Ed039's Note - The reserves, McAvennie kept him out of first team ...... amaizing wit you learn by googling someones name)

4.) 11 Aug 2015 21:32:09
i thought that he played for celtic the other boy urqhuart played with rangers
