I am looking forward to the season ahead. I believe SG has made some good acquisitions that have added quality and depth to the squad and we should mount a serious challenge to Celtic. However I am a bit disappointed with the lack of youth players being given the opportunity of starting or playing some part of a 1st team match. What is the point of having a seemingly successful youth development system in place when we don't give our best young players an opportunity in the 1st team? Hopefully we will see the likes of McPake being given their chance on a more regular basis rather than just a one off match even if its just coming on off the bench.

You can kind of understand it as everybody at the club, including the supporters crave instant success. Steve has maybe two more cracks at the title (and that's only if we mount a serious challenge this season) . It's difficult to give youth a chance unless they are truly exceptional, like Barry Ferguson was. They need to hit the road running. That's the way it is I'm afraid.
