We all know Tav has been great for Rangers. I'll probably upset Tav fans but I don't think he's captain material. I think the team would benefit with a new captain'.

What's your reasons for taking the captaincy off tav Baxterboy?I personally want tav to remain captain and without a doubt he will remain as our captain unless he leaves, which i very much doubt? It's this old terminology again because he's not as much as a bawler and shouter like Gough, butcher barry ferguson which of course is garbage in my eyes because all different captain's lead in all different ways ?.

My personal opinion is he has all the attributes required for a Ranger captain. Works very hard, never hides, sets very high standards on and off the pitch. Has the respect of the squad and younger players. An absolute gent. i'm not sure a new captain would make any difference. Baxter your opinion is as valid as mine who would you have as captain instead and in your opinion what would they bring to the team that Tav cant.

There are plenty to of fine players and captains that have not lifted a single trophy eg Tottenham Hotspur's and England's Captains all-time highest goalscorer, second-highest Premier League all-time goal scorer.

Ok our captain james tavernier surely most will agree with this
Tav's strong points ie. leads by example as our captain in his own efficient way and has total respect of his teammates, absolutely superb right back offensively, where he's asked to play by his manager, his numbers in goals scored and goal assists for a right back are incredible ie 101 goals and i believe around 117 assists ? tremendous in a dead ball situation and is a total athlete and very rarely injured, with an engine to die for ?His faults ie he isn't great defensively which of course is a bit of what our manager wants him to do in the offensive part of the game and it should be up to others to cover that side, when tav has bombed up the park ie our right sided centre half or defensive midfielder should be covering that ?So not too much negatives for me regarding our captain james tavernier ?.

Couldn’t agree more Sir Walter. The only thing that Tav doesn’t do that all these guys done is shout in an aggressive manner. Is that what makes a captain? Baxterboy what is it that makes him not captain material? Not dissing your opinion just genuinely want to know what it is that you think he lacks as we hear this so often.

For a guy who's not captain material he hasn't half been our captain for a while, and bit strange its been numerous managers who felt the same and one in particular whos standing in the game was elite, personally think the stick he gets at times off fans is utterly ridiculous, and by that I don't mean this post I mean in general.

Tav is our captain but is lacks genuine leadership skills. Nothing to do with shouting or being aggressive, he is just not a leader. Having said that he has improved over the years although still deficient in that area. Thankfully, we have several “captains” on the park and Tav is exposed less than would be otherwise.

Bankie how is tav different from Celtic Captain? He’s no a shouter ether and he’s definitely no a leader of men. He gets his head down and gets on with it like tav. John he might be aloud his opinion but we are aloud ours to agree or disagree.
