The main 2 players we continually talk about on here regarding contract extensions are ryan kent and alfredo morelos. What do we all think regarding ryan jack, as he's also out of contract at the end of this season ? Should ryan jack get a new contract extension guys ? It's no surprise to you all on here, that i think rangers are without a doubt, a much better team with jacko in our starting 11 and playing to his best ?I see signs after a year our injured that jacko is gradually getting there and imo should/ will get a new contract ? If jacko continues to get near full fitness and of course top form it's him and lundstram for me, as 2 definite midfield starters ?Thoughts?

Not for me I'm afraid, he's far too injury prone. It's time for the club to move away from injury prone players - Helander, Souter etc. Why we went for Souter given his injury record is anyone's guess.

I'm also a big Ryan Jack fan, coops and I think a midfield with him and Lundstram in it is our strongest. Good display in midweek and hope he kicks on. I think it depends on how his season pans out as to whether or not he is offered a new contract. He is still young enough to play for a good few years yet and I'd 100% love to see him sign on for the rest of his career. On the top of his game he is the best midfielder in Scotland imho ?.

No. More than enough players that spend half the season injured. Jack will revert back to type before long.

I wouldn't renew Jack - love him as a player, but think his best is behind him.

Yes from me, we are stronger team with him playing in it.

Yes but with a very low base wage - something with a strong emphasis on appearance bonuses.

Unfit unreliable not worthy of a new contract. Should be shown the door along with roofe helander etc. These wages could be better spent.

I agree with the comments about signing injury-prone players. Roofe is another example.

Jacko new contract for me.

Only better when he is fully fit and he ain’t been fully fit for well over a year now I would wait and see till end of the season if he can get back to what he was before then I would give him another year.

He has to prove his fitness but he is a player who selflessly does a lot of the thankless tasks that “keeps the 0”. Great attitude, a Bear and a leader.

If he can stay fit 100%

But we can’t be carrying a team full of sick notes either, everyone needs to be available for selection as much as possible.

Ryan Jack will be 31 at the end of the season. If he can stay fit and injury free until then and he can find a bit of form I would give him another year or 2. However he needs to improve on current form.

Yes for me. Like the way he plays. Good team player. Sign him up?.

Well done coldo, you managed to avoid mentioning the Buff ? only joking pal.

I like him but for me it's a no. I'd replace him with a less injury prone player. We have far too many passengers. They all need to go although I'd give Soutar the benefit of the doubt for now. Jack, Helander and Roofe go imo.

Keep jack. Worth another year. Rid of kamara kent helander roofe davis mcgregor.

Yes from me.
Fit and on form, Jack easily walks into our midfield.
No different from those that were happy for Davis, McGregor etc to get new deals.

He's got to go for me . he's not anywhere near the player he was a couple of seasons ago. I know if i was off sick at work continously they'd find a way to let me go. I just don't know why we keep signing players with injury a history of injuries.

I'd keep him SWSOBE as a squad player, good for the home grown nationality for Europe. Don't think domestically we need two holding mf's but he would be good to bring on as a sub or play games to rest JL.

Not for me unless he is getting a deal payed when played.

Best game I have seen Jack play for us was Dortmund over there, so his best game for me was last season not a couple of seasons ago.

SWSOBE, I agree with you 100%, too much time has been spent talking about Morelos and Kent, just get on with things without them, I think Colak is a better prospect anyway. As regards Ryan Jack, most definitely I think he's a terrific player whose luck has deserted him regarding injuries, I feel he should be offered a deal whereby if he is absent through injury, he would get a reduced wage, I honestly feel he would agree to that.

Davis and McGregor are not injury prone so infact it is very different.

GVB he needs to do in more than one game.

25.) 29 Sep 2022

Gvb didn't mean that Jack last played well in the Dortmund away game. He said he thought that was his best game for the club. ? In all fairness Ryan Jack has very few poor games for this club ?.
