Guys still on the fence regarding shankland as I said before his lack of pace bothers me
But we have on the other side of the coin done well when bringing in a Scottish striker who knows the league and been banging them in before they come to us
So if we get him ge will quite rightly get the support and hopefully he can continue to bang them in and get better

Ottersprocket always been a good poster on here and I've seen him say a few times he's confident we get him let's see what happens

A few posters mentioned 1D and a couple rooms been booked a couple weeks ago did anything ever come of that?
Was it us who booked the rooms? If so do we know who they were for and was it a potential signing?

always funny at the start of the window we always say plenty time although we still have a couple weeks left time is flying by and we're still not further forward who we will bring in.

Thestigno1, shankland doesn't need pace my friend because every team in scotland apart from celtic come and sit in to play the low block ? It's shankland 's movement and predatory goalscoring instincts and being a natural finisher that makes him the goalscorer he is ? Remember michael o'halloran mate ?He was bought because he had burning pace and that was fine at st. johnstone where he got the space to do it, with the ball over the top but failed at rangers because he had no space to run into because of the low block teams play against us ?Look at kris boyd also, absolutely no pace but look at the goals he scored in scotland for us ie. because he was a natural goalscorer and instinctively knew where to be as the goalposts don't move and big boyd played within the breadth of the goalposts ?.

That was for Silva and his agent.

I'm same as you Stig, but swaying more to signing him, he's been fairly prolific at every level and if we get him for 3.5m or less and a player, I think he'd pay it back over the next couple of years. I'd have him in now, he'd score a hat trick against Dumbarton and be off and running. He's good in the air, can score with both feet and strong, his lack of blistering pace is not that big a deal to me because he knows where the net is. The fact he's the Hearts captain also make me think he's a winner.

The fact he knows the league is a big advantage. if we bring in another striker he might not adjust to the league, we've seen that with Lammers.

Shankland is better than any striker we have. Not sure why people are unsure.

Mark 44 Lammers never got played as a 9, not really a fair comparison as he is a 9, but aye he was dodgy more than not?.

Guys all good points and as I said in my post above and as yous have also said he knows the league and proven finisher
so yeah absolutely and as you say coops boyd wasn’t blessed with pace but a cracking striker for us and I loved Boydy
if shankland can come do as a good a job would be thrilled ??
Bring him this window hopefully ?.

I'd rather take Shankland than take the chance we end up with another Dessers. At least we know Shankland would settle quickly. The 2 games against Hibs and St Mirren away are going be right tough games but games we must win.

I'm not fussed over Shankland, more so at the price being quoted.

Boyd scored the goals that against the other teams that win championships Stormtrooper.

Storm you've got to score against all the teams in the league to win the league my friend ?A question to you ie how many times did kris boyd start against celtic ? We all liked alfredo storm but look at the trouble he had scoring against celtic and he constantly was picked to play against them ?Look at all the scenarios before hitting on one just to suit your argument mate ?.

Storm shankland has scored against them us and everyone else, he’ll do it for us aswell given the chance.

Why does it matter how many he scored against Celtic?

Exactly the point that I was going to make SirWalter. Morelos was idolised but more often than not failed to make an impact against Celtic.

because there are more than just celtic in the league. listen boyd wasnt walters choice in europe either, infact he was dropped by walter because he was lazy and didn't contribute outside the box. like it or not its true, the game has changed. shankland won't score 20 plus for rangers. if you think that's true why haven't we signed him already.

Am sure we wouldn't need to worry about shankland scoring against celtic as he has scored 5 times in past 2 seasons against them, also scored 6 times in 12 games in Europe. Imo he is getting better all the time.
