He’s not going to get in their 11 tho so for me we need to give him minutes or loan him out. He’s obv going to get in the euro squad for us and so with an injury or 2 in our squad could find himself in the team.
Either that or loan him somewhere he will play.

The pre-season matches were a good opportunity to give Alex some first team minutes.
What little time he did get, 5 mins or so against Newcastle, he made a defence splitting pass and nearly scored himself.
He`s had more minutes elsewhere against decent opposition mind so not all bad.
First question I`d ask, Did Alex hear about the offer pre-match? 2nd question, did Burnley come back with an improved offer post match?
Wonder what Rangers would take for him?
They`re in the process of letting a first team player go for 500k.
A first team player who played in a Europa Cup final and scored in a Scottish Cup final.
We`ll not be long in finding out what the plans are for him, hopefully not somewhere out of sight, out of mind.

John - what seems to be the issue with Lowry? That’s Gio and MB who don’t really rate him.

From the few cameos I’ve seen him play for the first team he looks as though he can pick a pass and is a creative player.

Rice and Lowry will be used sparingly, both special players give them some time, Lowry got clattered in that Lowland league hammer throwers farce so bit of patience he will do fine. No doubts about Rice he will also be a winner.

He has done pre season with the first team not the B team but has gone back to the B team for the last few games to get more game time . B team against Burnley was really strong with Lowry, McCrorie, Devine, Rice and Lovelace all playing . These games are better for their fitness than 20 minutes here and there with the first team.
