Danilo

Apparently we have put in an offer and it's being considered.

Excellent gdog, looks a very good option.

Same sight reporting its been knocked back. They want 6.5m euros for him apparently.

Is this the Danilo that used yo play for Ajax? If so he looked a cracking player when I saw him. Not seen anything recently but looked to have everything to succeed in our league and team.

5.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 11:47:50
Is it not the Traore bid that's been KB'd
The Danillo bid is being considered by Feynoord.
Either way does that mean if we are going for those 2,are we dropping interest in Dessers?

6.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 11:51:08
Rangers penny-pinching as usual.

7.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 11:57:27
Rangers transfer buisness is embarassing always looks penny-pinching.

8.) 27 Jun 2023

Any idea how much we offered?

9.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 12:05:06
T4O has confirmed on twitter that Rangers put a bid in for Danilo. Rumours it has already been rejected but nothing concrete. If Rangers have made an opening bid for Danilo it’s safe to assume we are moving on from Dessers. Having just turned 24 Danilo makes a lot more sense in terms of our player trading model than Dessers IMO.

Also, Hacken have said it would take a record fee to sign Benie Traore. The most his current club have ever received for a past transfer is £3.5m - So Rangers would need to go above that. Reports are that Rangers have already had a £3m bid rejected.

10.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 12:16:15
How's it penny pinching. You aren't just going to put your max in right away.

11.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 12:20:58
Out of all mentioned strikers Danilo is the one I want we shouldn’t be paying anywhere near 6 million for Dessers.

12.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 12:21:06
Penny pinching yes off couse we are people need to realise we ain't got no BILLIONAIRE owner like smell. tic have to give angela and brenda 20mil 25 mill 30mill over 2/ 3 years which is coppers to mr desmonds funds to splash etc

WE ARE RANGER55
WE ARE SKINT.

13.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 12:21:23
Sounds like a better option for me. If we had Sakala Sima Dessers and Maja we'd be seriously stuck come African nations cup. I'd still go for Maja given out of contract but drop interest in Desser. Think there's better for similar price they asking for.

14.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 12:31:32
Voetball International claiming Feyenoord have rejected Danilo bid from Rangers.

15.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 12:36:01
Penny pinching have you got proof of that ulster blue?

16.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 12:45:30
Did Gio not want Danilo when he had six months of his deal left at Ajax and we had a striker crisis? Instead of getting him on a pre contract or a small fee, 18 months later we are going to pay millions for him. Doesn`t look like good business to me.

17.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 12:54:16
Obviously while agreeing that you don't want to pay over the odds I do think we have a history of low-ball bids which are rejected and the old excuse is "well we did try".
That won't wash anymore not with me anyway.
This board will get just as much stick as the old regime if they try that - and rightly so.

18.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 12:57:22
I know we are not the richest club but the business our Gaffer has done so far is excellent. Very impressed and I can’t accuse us of penny pinching. If we could get a couple out the door we can continue to add to the squad ✌️.

19.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 13:06:16
It’s great business as far as Feyenoord are concerned. They pick up a striker that has been released by Ajax for free, use him as a backup striker for one season, then sell him for millions. Meanwhile, Rangers just lost one of the top scorers in their history, and the second highest scorer in Europa League history, for free.

Proof if ever it was need that Rangers are still struggling to operate a competent player trading model.

20.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 13:06:34
Told our interest in haji wright is weakening, guy does not want to play in Scotland.

21.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 13:11:49
Please educate yourself before you call our club penny pinching. This us how transfers have worked long before social media, long before it gave people like you a platform to spout nonsense.

22.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 13:14:12
Ulster, nothing wrong with trying to get the best deal possible.

23.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 13:16:12
Seems to be the only thing you say UB! Spidey sense tingling a bit.
I'll humour you anyway. its called negotiating.

24.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 13:36:06
Ulsterblue it’s posts like yours that are embarrassing not the clubs transfer business…….
So by your reckoning we should just pay whatever clubs want? Even though we have limited funds and play in a footballing backwater that gives us no chance to compete with teams from other leagues as they can price us out! It’s not the late 80’s early 90’s any more! We have to put low ball offers in on the off chance we get one cheaper. Get a grip and support the team instead of snide comments about millions n millions of pounds that we clearly don’t have.

25.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 13:51:18
Id break the bank for this Danilo boy. Looks like exactly what we need. Good with his back to goal, can make space for himself, links up play with overlapping runners and takes a pop from outside the box. We will do well to get him.

26.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 13:53:45
Wsl maybe we didn’t want him when gio was here so how could it be bad business?

27.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 14:11:54
How is bidding £2 mill for players
That are 5 to 6 million value
and rangers know it not penny-pinching same thing last year with many players.

28.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 14:23:00
DadoPrso9 we broke the bank once before, it didn't end well.

29.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 14:24:18
We need to be prudent with our finances but we also need to be realistic when submitting bids for players.

30.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 14:28:13
Ulster where it say we bid two millions.

31.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 14:34:06
How do you know we've bid £2million?
If they want £5million you don't go straight to the asking price. Like I said its a negotiation process.

32.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 14:41:34
Ub you look like a fist time poster i take it your from the darker side?

As long as beale gets who he wants and we beat the smell. tic and win title i don't care if they cost a £5.

33.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 14:57:40
Cool john, we cannot waste time on any player who doesn’t want to come to rangers if that’s the case with haji-wright we move on.

34.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 14:59:14
Penny-pinching is poor practice when you have millions to spare. We don't. So it is not penny-pinching but fiscal responsibility.
UB, would you rather we threw too much money at players and over spend? FFP rules also need to be followed. How much are we allowed to spend?

35.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 14:59:55
It called testing the resolve
Scratch the surface see how it goes
Don't just jump in with mega bids
You negotiate a deal
Some work some don't

But maby we are being a bit more tackful than paying 12 mill for flo kinda days

We fell from a height
We need too have learned a lesson

Nothrow money at deals.

36.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 15:09:57
Sima and danilo will do me but it is concerning we are now onto 2nd and 3rd choice targets. This is how we end up with a squad packed with dross as we are not willing to meet asking price for top targets and work our way down a list until we can get someone for 2-3m max.

37.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 15:14:49
Correct Lammers, seems that names we r after are upgrades on previous windows.

38.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 15:16:34
Ulster really!

There's a difference between penny pinching and not letting other clubs rip you off.

6.5 million for a. guy that's not even first choice for them really! People need to get real we no longer have the spending power of most European league because of the horrendous TV deals out league locked into.

I'd rather look to Romania Serbia Croatia South America Africa place were your not charged crazy money for same standard of player.

39.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 15:17:14
For me club doing right thing here too much move on ???? to club.

40.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 15:29:08
BigDado - we may be on to 2nd or 3rd choice targets because #1 etc don't want to play in this crappy league.

Not the club's fault.

Thats the reality of our situation.

Its not always somebody's fault.

41.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 15:42:57
Could be better than the main target, Beale’s opinion on who should be no 1 may not be the right choice.

42.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 15:55:22
If we can get Danilo and Sima over the line I think both would be excellent additions.

43.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 16:04:17
Need to remeber not a lot of teams don't want to do business with us. a lot of clubs want a lot of the fees paid upfront. We tend to pay over 5 years like we did with Kent. So if we offer say 5 million, we pay them 1 million a season. a lot of clubs don't do that now. They generally want 50-75% up front and the rest paid the folowing year.

44.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 16:07:29
Heart and Hand have said we put in a bid of £3.5million. They want €8million. Reckon meet somewhere around £5 million.

45.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 16:08:34
Heart and Hand have said Rangers are way off meeting Feyenoord’s valuation.

46.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 16:49:31
Who’s really know if we are onto 2nd/ 3rd targets? I personally think the links to Sima and Danilo are massive upgrades so if some are classing these guys as 2nd/ 3rd choice I’m happy with the players the recruitment department are identifying, let’s see how things progress there is money to be spent but we won’t be bent over a barrel paying more than a player is worth.

47.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 16:56:51
Think we need to be realistic when submitting bids for players but there is a fine line as we need to be prudent with our finances.
So far MB has spent 3.5m on transfers and managed to sign 4 players for the club which is excellent business.
The priority is the forward areas so we should bring Maja in on free if he is interested in coming to Rangers and offer the money asked for Traoare, Dessers, or Danilo.
In Danilo and Traorae they would have a sell on value but Dessers would bring a bit more experience to our team.
Do we know if MB has any other transfer target’s except Hagi-Wright, Douvakis, and Piroe as I can’t see us spending over 6m on a striker?

48.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 17:11:14
Cod how do u pay over five years on a four year deal.

49.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 17:28:31
Thats why I phrased it as a question Stormtrooper . It was a rumour at the time and IF it was true we wanted him, it is bad business to not move when he was free and now pay £6million 18 months later after he has scored a few goals for Feyenoord. Is he really that much better now? It was a comment made about a rumour which is what people do on this site . The current interest is only a rumour too because no-one knows what's true at the moment.

50.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 17:46:05
I am reading that danilo is worth 5 million if it works out we can triple that.

51.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 18:01:58
So John27 which striker's do we actually want going with the info you have ?.

52.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 18:25:52
Codliveroil, I disagree with your post, I don't think clubs pay 50-75% up front, I'd imagine few could afford it, Ed001, what's your info on the structure of a transfer fee?

{Ed001's Note - it really varies. But usually there is a decent size up front payment that is made by taking out a very short-term loan. A friend of mine used to work for a company that provided the finance for Spurs and she did explain it to me. Usually they want as big an up front payment as possible and often end up selling the rest of the debt on to someone else if they require cash quickly, as Liverpool did with the Coutinho deal. They were then able to use the money, when they would otherwise have been waiting for it come in drip by drip.}

53.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 18:46:07
I’m sure we can afford to pay £5 million for a cf still got the Tillman ring fenced transfer fee so get it done gers.

54.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 19:07:19
Why do we not just pay the £4 million for Traore
Would be money well spent.

55.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 20:09:40
Points all taken regarding top targets maybe not fancy scotland. But haji wright and dessers play with relatively unknown teams and careers so far have been a mix bag so could be wrong but i reckon both would be attracted with CL and a chance to play for a title. And in wrights case, 1 step closer to england. Dessers is at an age he's not going to get better than us. i'm fully behind Beale with any targets but i'd still like to know who the "specific striker" he was referring to who would be available in summer.

56.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 20:22:09
Thanks Ed, Codliveroil, you might be correct with your figure of 50-70%.

57.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 20:42:23
It’s like everything that is up for sale you put in an offer and wait for the response nobody even down south offers the clubs asking price, the price that we are talking about is it in Euros or £ it’s quite a difference.

58.) 28 Jun 2023
28 Jun 2023 03:07:54
Rangers offer was said to be £3m. Feyenoord was over £7m. A journalist in Holland has said Rangers bid was “not even close to being serious”.

59.) 28 Jun 2023
28 Jun 2023 11:40:04
I have to say that I see us being a significantly more commercially minded Business now than we have been, (and Rangers is a Business) . I was never a fan of Parks or the previous CEO; we now have dynamic leadership, Beale seems to be pretty effective in his role - working without a DoF to bring in new players and hopefully we will be able to discard those players that are no longer needed without too much difficulty.
Beale knows that he has to get it right on the park so he will want the players that can make a difference and I don't believe that there will be too much of a variance in terms of quality in terms of his 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices for the striker roles. I am sure that both he, his Chairman and his CEO also know what the financial numbers are that they are playing with and the number of new players that the budget needs to secure.
Just like any business it is all about the financials and we have the added problem that there is no guarantee that we can get rid of players that are no longer required.
