Hearing today a number off b team players may be moving on
Miller, Mayo, Williamson, Kennedy Weston, Wright, Cervantes and Alegria.

Not sure if we'd make as much as that and given the cost we paid in development fees for them it's still disappointing results given the expectations. Not sure many we've brought thru are lower level Spl players let alone good enough for us or beyond. Hope see more from the next batch.

Kaisergers. that's football. there's no team in worldwide football that can produce a first team player for every youth. out of maybe 20 players I'd hope to maybe get 1. I say it's good on us to recognise that these players need to move on so another batch can come through and as John said there will be development fees to be paid.

The appointment of Beale has already seen some of the B team players training with the first team squad.
Hopefully we see progression and they go onto become regular starters over the next few seasons.
Lowland League has certainly helped to develop the academy players.

Totally get its the right way to go and hope some really push on. Had great deals with Mebude bros etc just meant with the ones mentioned I'd be surprised if they bring in that much tho would be happy. If they struggling to get into championships teams, can u see the level of killie or Falkirk paying 2-300k. With the focus on development in recent years since Warburtons best v best etc even if not many quite good enough to get into our 1st team I would have expected to see more who've made it into other prem teams.

I am hugely encouraged/ optimistic from what I’ve heard from Beale over the last week be it to do with style, 56 or stepping g up B team. I am assuming g he will have had some knowledge and input into this decision so I will trust his judgement. If John27 is correct with his figures which I assume he is, 8 out is nearly 2.4m in for players that are not goi g to make the 1st team. That on top of the youth that was brought in over the summer to push for the senior team only gives me hope. I’m maybe half glass full, but it certainly isn’t all doom and gloom.

Some of the older lads might remember a documentary from the 90’s about the Chelsea academy. It followed them throughout the season and in the end, from all the hopefuls I’m pretty sure only Jody Morris actually succeeded in making the breakthrough. It was a good insight into just how difficult it can be to either ‘make it’ or for that matter to get the talent you hope for.

My point wasn't really about academy in general, just regarding the players mentioned and values. I think we have made great progress and think it's great we are starting to show more belief in youth rather than just talk. Hope we see more of Lowry and Mccann etc or even Lovelace in near future. Also totally appreciate John's info so wasn't having a go at him.

Called it on Alegria a long time ago. Told i was speakin rubbish as harry kane and jamie vardy late starters used as examples. Struggled badly at thistle. am told on here he's absolutely loved at falkirk but not an automatic starter. Scored 5 goals in 15 in league 1. Everybody had high hopes for the lad. Hopefully when he moves on he can get somewhere and make a decent career for himself.

Agree we need to have a process to grow these young lads - - but again, i will say every one of them at one tine was going to be the next best thing .
No club in Scotland is going to pay 2-300k for a young lad who couldn't even get on our bench and as we paid to get a couple in the first place, can't see where 2mill + comes from.
Anyhoo - moving on, let's hope Mr Beale has a plan going forward to keep the ones that are developing still, fully interested and involved with the 1st team - - if things are going ok in games - they MUST get brought on - especially if we have guys playing with injuries and injections in the first team.

Remember when our training facility was opened they said they hope to have a conveyor belt of players however most won’t make it at rangers and the development/ transfer fees for these players would pay for the upkeep/ running of our training facility.
These developments fees are still crucial to our club.
