As a lot of you guys will already know, we're now being heavily linked with the now former southampton and RBLeipzig manager ralph hasenhuttl ?If anything were to happen to gio i would not rule this out for several reasons fellow bears ie. had previously a very good working relationship with ross wilson at southampton, is now out of work, plays a high press attacking brand of football with work ethic and high tempo ?If this were to pass and hasenhuttl did become our new manager how happy or not would you be and how good a manager do we think he is ?.

The board seem to be backing gio so all the rumours must be bs.

I would be delighted. Stayed at Southampton too long, this time last year he was being touted for Man Utd. Has an exciting brand of football and a lot of charisma.

what have we got now another poll of what could we have or not, we have to get shot of gio first and see who is available, the rest will be just speculation.

07 Nov 2022 20:54:53
I would ve very happy sws, certainly the calibre we need.

5.) 07 Nov 2022

Certainly the best option that has been mentioned on here by a mile.

6.) 07 Nov 2022

That will most likely just be rumours though I think hassenhutl is a decent manager don’t think he’s better than Sean dyche or other names mentioned reason I say dyche look at his head to head games with Burnley they win most against his saints team I can’t see a change of manager the now they seem content and distant.

Not for me Coop. Had one good season getting to mid table and then a strong spell where they went top at the start of the season and then recently 15th and sitting 17th as he left. Think we can do better.

8.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 21:43:02
Dreadful option and would suggest Wilson still in post. An absolute no from me.

On paper would be a great appointment.

Two main concerns would be,

1. Does he have the experience to manage a club with our "demands"

2. Do we have the players to adapt to his style of play?

10.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 22:11:20
I read somewhere earlier today that he was planning on retiring from football at the end of his Southampton contract which had 18 months left on it.

It's a difficult one mate, because of what's going on, he could be great but so could Gio in time
one funds for players
I personally think we need a good clear out, new keeper
New defence left and right plus centre back

New mids as few of older guys need back up

Kent needs replaced and morelos as much as i hate too say they look uninterested

SO either way
If its Gio, or Hasenhuttl
both would need time
And cash and backing of us all

I love Hasenhuttls style of play very like Anges press and attacking
Long story Short lol ? ?
He could be a good appointment.

We aren’t getting rid of our captain mate not a chance 5 goals and 5 assists in 13 league games tav ain’t the problem. gio and his style of play is. Only colak has been involved in more goals. As for left back sure ridvan will come good has looked sharp when he’s played.

13.) 08 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 23:34:22
Gio just doesn’t have the fire in his belly unfortunately.

I know its not going to happen but am i the only ome that wants bielsa in as manager if/ when gio goes, not seen him mentioned once.

15.) 08 Nov 2022
08 Nov 2022 04:18:14
He's never won anything of note we need to win every week not losing 5-4'or drawing 6-6 not for me sorry.

16.) 08 Nov 2022
08 Nov 2022 05:03:29
Bielsa has been mentioned a few times on here mate ?.

17.) 08 Nov 2022
08 Nov 2022 06:32:28
Gio will.

18.) 08 Nov 2022
08 Nov 2022 07:34:04
We should have bit the bullet after the EC final. We all have our favourites, Davis, Arfield, even Mc Gregor should have been replaced. Ruthless managers like sir Alex always took hard decisions to rid of top players. We now need a complete clear out. That will cost, add to any compo for gio and his backroom team, we are talking big bucks. There is also factions in the battle of the heart of the club, king v park. I think gio has til the WC break ( 6 points are a must) then we can look were we stand. We have a aging squad of pros and some cracking young players, we need 4 or 5 1st team starters or some of our so called pros to step up.

19.) 08 Nov 2022
08 Nov 2022 08:52:15
Unfortunately we didn't have the cash to replace the 1s u mention.

20.) 08 Nov 2022
08 Nov 2022 09:05:02
Tav ain't the problem? He plays in defence- can't defend AT ALL.
He decides to take the pens so he can look like he makes a contribution- Pens are not even that great, always at a good height for the goalkeeper and that has been claimed by ex pro's who are on commentary.
Did i mention that as a Captain, he is probably the worst version of Captain material that i have seen in my lifetime of watching Rangers.
Our captain is someone from the Warburton era and that is something that should concern you because if the best we can get is a 200k player signed by that numpty then no wonder we are in the situation we are in.

21.) 08 Nov 2022
08 Nov 2022 10:00:08
I always see folk saying Tavs numbers with goals and assists etc which is all well and good. Take away his penalties and it's still better than Kent for example but and here's the clincher for me, he's a terrible defender and loses possession in horrible areas for us.
What's every game and count how many times he loses the ball and almost every goal we lose is down to our full backs not being able to defend.

22.) 08 Nov 2022
08 Nov 2022 10:07:45
Totally agree.

23.) 08 Nov 2022
08 Nov 2022 11:04:11
If we do part ways with gio I would love us to go for Marcelo Gallardo if he's affordable I think he will end up managing at the highest level his style of play is free flowing and exciting to watch.

24.) 08 Nov 2022
08 Nov 2022 11:32:37
Defending of the ball is not just down to our full backs and CHs. You defend from front- mid then defence. (our wingers don't do that 100% during matches) so Tav ends up isolated- Same happens when Barasic gets up field - gaps are laft where no one covers most of the time.
Yes. Tavs is not the best defender in the world but had we forwards midfielders and CHs who constantly press the ball and are willing to put in a tackle many of goals from flanks would not be conceded.
I agree that he should temper the runs forward and not get caught out so frequently, but his pressing must come from managers tactics.
When we play with four at back then CH must shift over to defend space but our current CHs look too afraid to leave their ZONE or mid needs to drop back for cover.
Defending is a team game!

08 Nov 2022 11:58:21
Gallardo is the most coveted manager in South America. Think he is destined for a bigger league than us already.

26.) 08 Nov 2022
08 Nov 2022 12:11:01
Isn’t it strange both fullback appear hopeless since GVB came. Its his set up that’s failing.

27.) 08 Nov 2022

Tags always been hopeless imo.

28.) 08 Nov 2022

As a few have mentioned, a new manager may inject some life into an already creaking squad (depending on the manage the club can both attract and afford) .
My more immediate concerns are about getting those on the treatment table off, trimming the dead wood and those who clearly wish to depart (even if it is for less money that we would ordinarily like) . One would hope the World Cup break will give us a chance to do this.
Clearly January will be crucial in terms of outgoing and incoming players. We need to come to terms with the fact that some wish to go, and use their contract situation as they see fit. We simply need to be better in doing the same with those expiring or expired in our search. There are quality options out there and would hope our scouts are doing some serious miles in order to seek out the gems, as I think money will be tight whether Gio stays or goes….

29.) 08 Nov 2022
08 Nov 2022 14:41:50
Does a few fans chatting about it on a rumours page now make it heavily linked? ??‍♂️?.

30.) 08 Nov 2022
08 Nov 2022 15:37:33
I agree storm board do appear to be backing gio and I think it's primarily because they know they let him down with recruitment.

He's on very thin ice though and people are already deciding who they want to reach him which is not a great sign even if he turns it round a claws back gap to competitive level I think it will be impossible to change a lot of folks minds.

31.) 08 Nov 2022
08 Nov 2022 18:07:37
Tav gets blamed for goals even on the other side of the park from him. Plenty a modern day full backs aren’t good defensively. Patterson hickey and Trent come to mind. Our midfielders should track back when borna and tav bomb up the pitch like when sg was here but they don’t. You still need to score penalties and 56 goals from open play for a right back is phenomenal. How many points less would we have without tavs goal contributed he’s doing more in front a goal than all our midfielders and fowards other than tony goals.

32.) 08 Nov 2022
08 Nov 2022 18:10:21
Richy most goals we’ve conceded last few weeks have came from teams running towards young king liverpool just ran it him and played one twos right threw the boy he’s out of his depth.

33.) 08 Nov 2022
08 Nov 2022 18:45:13
Gofor u r correct the ice is getting thinner, board seem to be taking a stance for now in backing Gio.

34.) 08 Nov 2022

Patterson was fine defending ridiculous to say he wasn’t.

In my lifetime I can't remember any other Rangers manager that would have survived these results.

I agree with storm here and got to say there is a difference with ayoung boy learning his trade and a seasoned pro coming to the end not fair comparison Tav has not learned anything from the days of getting owned by stokes he either plays well going forward or not he's always been poor defensively and that always comes back to bite you.
